inspiration.

What a truly inspiring day it has been. From the second I stepped into class today until the second I left class, I have been inspired. Well, I guess it never ended since I'm still contemplating and writing about it now. I'm glad I approached the person whose writing and experiences have constantly inspired me (you're going to hear the word "inspire" a lot in my writings these days). Their journey through life has particularly captured me and I'd like to thank them. I let them know today that I cared and was so glad to hear that things went well this weekend. I'd like to thank them for their continuous courage in life. Although I know them only through their personal papers and the brief encountering today, I'd like to say that I'm proud of them. Today was another day where the professor set aside his lecture notes to allow the "chosen ones" to share their personal papers and free-writes. Many of us were "summoned" (a joke many of us made when we see that bright post-it on our papers). I was included. I wrote this free-write at the end of the previous class and it was in response to yet another inspiring peer's personal paper. I was too chicken to respond verbally to their paper last week (okay, I'm still working on this). So, I did it through words. I made eye contact with them across the room before, during, and after I read my free-write out loud, letting them know that their paper meant something to me. I wanted them to know that they're not alone in their current struggles. I'm so grateful to know all of my S&HV peers; I'm so grateful for their trusting selves, their open selves, their vulnerable selves. Trust. Honesty. I've never really knew knew the true meanings of both these terms. Fortunately, I have been given the chance.
