Holy crap I am so behind on concert updates.
Y'all, I can't even begin to explain what all has happened, especially in depth. Thankfully, I've written most of the interactions down in my Japanese study notebook and one day I'm going to document them all. Actually, I should open a journal that just features the concert season. I think that would be pretty interesting. Hmmmmm...........
I met everyone on the Mayhem Tour because I did catering, then worked the pit for the entire 10ish hours of music. Got four guitar picks and serious SERIOUS bruising. Was invited to their after party and had a lot of the bands talk to me. They would tell me they recognized me and wondered what I was doing in the pit.
I met everyone on the "main" stage of Vans Warped Tour. Got a card to download songs from a band called Tip the Van. Nicole does the vocals and we talked all day whenever she was around. She invited me to their after party at Coney but I couldn't since I threw up at the minute I arrived at work at 7 am. Got a Sum 41 guitar pick and an autographed drum stick from Rich, Andrew WK's drummer (we were buddies all day)
I met everyone from KISS. KISS just rolled out of town and Gene Simmons sat on my lap. For a long time. And told me what to do now that I'm young. I got a guitar pick from their security man, Danny. And I met Doc, their tour manager. The guys on their tour REALLY liked me. Like, really. I'll elaborate on that one day.
Besides WORK, which is all I do now, I've totally gotten into Tenchi Muyo. Tenchi may be my favorite anime ever. Pokemon is special, but Tenchi is for a much older audience... I was a freshman in high school when I first started watching it and I thought it was just the greatest, and it still is. The bath scene still makes me tear up from laughing, which I cannot find online, so you're all missing out. It has everything Pokemon will NEVER HAVE - serious issues with adult themes. And risque humor. WASHU --- FTW MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!!! (Thank GOD someone "translated" the official novel written about her and her past.) She's my baby : )
I wouldn't say I've been hard at work with Japanese. I guess the nice thing is that I can take my time but I should be doing/learning something everyday and I haven't. I can read and write about 32 hira+kata symbols. LITTLE OVER 70 MORE TO LEARN, SHOOT ME. And I really gotta get on Rosetta Stone, I stopped after the second lesson and since I remember everything I learned a MONTH ago from it, it really does work. Well, shit. And I fell onto a site that talked about how Japan wants teachers and will hire regardless of a degree, but if you have one, you have a better shot/more money....... I'm very interested. I'd just HAVE to find one person who speaks English and be guaranteed that I wouldn't be shunned for being single (By the time I'd get over there I'd probably be 26ish. And I'm pretty positive they look down on girls who aren't married by that age, meaning I'd NEVER FIND A HUSBAND AND THERE'D BE NO POINT LIVING OVER THERE!) Plus, I can't imagine leaving all my things behind. Hi, I enjoy my bed elevated above the floor. And ALL MY ELECTRONICS.
2 weeks. I have 2 fucking weeks until we go back to school. And this is why I'm seriously considering a move to Japan to teach. I heard teaching is insanely easier and the children are so much more respectful (but they have much longer school years. WORTH IT FOR THE RESPECT!) I want to see Ms. H so bad. I've missed her. But I'm not ready to teach and suck up to superiors that I'm not fond of. And I always get extreme anxiety before and during the first few weeks of school. I can already feel it if I think hard, so I need to get to the doctor pronto and go on some kind of medicine that will hopefully keep me somewhat calm until the initial fear wears off.
FIFA makes the best soccer games. I bought World Cup 2010 and I fucking love it. Beat the game in one go on easy with Japan; the final game (ironically against the Netherlands) I won 15 - 3.
