So this weekend I met up with a friend in NYC and we had an awesome time.

The first day was crazy. I got up at 6:30 because I had to leave at 7:30 to babysit for two hours before going into the city. But I got paid well for it so I didn't care. So I got the train to the city at like 9:45 and then I wandered for a bit and my friend's bus was supposed to come in at 12:30 but it was TWO HOURS late. So she got there at like 2:30 and we met up at like 2:50 and I was in line to get us tickets for Addams Family and it was already getting all rainy and nasty. So we got our tickets and we went to go sit and chat for a bit before deciding that we might as well wander, rain or not, which turned out to be a good thing because we stumbled across an AWESOME barbecue place for dinner. So we did that and by the time we were done, we decided we should just go wait in the theater so we did and omg they had special drinks available for Addams Family, The Gomez, The Morticia, and Rigor Mortis. I got The Morticia (Stoli Raz, Strawberry Pucker, Sprite) and she got Rigor Mortis (Malibu, Strawberry Pucker, Sprite). I highly recommend them. We both basically felt like we were drinkin soda. Couldn't even taste the alcohol. So then we get to our seats and find out we're only three rows from the stage. Awesomeness. And it was such a funny, cute show. Like... it flopped with critics but I think the critics were trying to take it too seriously... and it doesn't even take itself seriously so it'd be dumb to try to. If you just let it be and relax and don't think too hard, it's a really good way to spend the night. I thought it was totally entertaining and really you can't go wrong with Bebe Neuwirth and Roger Rees. So afterwards, it was POURING raining but luckily the stage door had an epic covering so we were able to still wait... all like 5 of us that actually bothered. And the first thing they said was "Don't put your arm around Bebe." We were like oooook. So all the people came out and they were really super nice and everything. And I was really excited to meet Roger Rees because he was on 5 eps of West Wing and I ADORED his character (The British Ambassador... the drunk one...). So I babbled about that to him and he said something like "He was a fun character, wasn't he?" Can't remember exactly. But yeah he was super duper sweet about it and liked that I knew him from that and when I asked to take a pic with him, he said he'd love that very much. And then Bebe came out and was like "Oh it's the diehards."... Pretty sure that was her subtle way of calling us freaks for being out there in the rain XD cuz she even said "Okay buh-bye now" when she left... with THAT voice. I was like wow biotch haha... had to keep my mouth shut cuz I was SO close to blurting something about Jumanji. I will say that for someone who really doesn't like stage doors, I do give her credit for actually bothering to come out because some stars (*cough* Robert Sean Leonard *cough* Jim Belushi *cough*) couldn't even be bothered. So yeah then we had to run around trying to catch a fucking cab in the pouring rain... yikes was that bad. But we caught one and we got to the hotel 15 minutes before the bar closed and each got a drink before going upstairs and crashing, feeling like we were coated in slime.

The next morning we got up and went to get in line for tickets to Lombardi because of Judith Light. This stupid acting group was putting on random scenes on the red steps so we ended up at least being entertained by their horridness while we waited. We got the tickets and then went down to Bar Amercain (yes, Bobby Flay's restaurant) for brunch which was surprisingly amazing. We were quite disappointed that it was so good but at least we got Miss Stephanie's Biscuits and Gravy! And the atmosphere was absolutely amazing and the place was gorgeous and we were so pissed that we actually did want to go back again some time XD So yeah after that, we headed over to the play which we were both expecting to be bored as hell with because it's about a freakin football coach. And the audience really was mostly like... ages 45 and up... with a few random ones scattered around. The guy beside us even said we didn't look like the right audience for it and wanted to know what had brought us there... and of course we said Judith. So the play was unbelievably well acted by EVERYONE... It was funny and smart and it was very minimalist on set because there was no curtain and like the stage was open on all sides. But they did amazing things with the lighting for past and present scenes and pulled off awesome things with flashbacks and it was really really super well done. So after, there wasn't even a real stage door. We had to wait in the lobby. There were literally four of us waiting for everyone. We actually had to call the actors over because they didn't know we wanted their autographs. And they were really super nice again... And then it was time for Judith to come out and a woman comes out and goes "Who are you waiting for?" Uh... considering literally everyone else from the cast had come out (it was a small cast... like 6 people I think?)... who the fuck would we be waiting for? And we told her and she told us she left. Uh what? There was literally one exit and even if there wasn't, there was absolutely NO other way for her to go out that she wouldn't be seen by fans somehow. Woman did NOT leave. My friend said that at least Judith sent someone out to say something but yeah... lame lame LAME excuse. And it's not like you can re-stage door that since it was inside.... you'd have to have tickets again. So Judith was a MAJOR let down and I won't be forgetting that one. We were both pissed about that. It was a really bad note to end the trip on too because my friend missed her bus for her and I NEARLY missed my train. I had to run the entire last block to the station to make it... and nearly got hit by a taxi.

All in all though, it was really quite and awesome trip. We crammed a lot into a little time and it was totally fabulous!
