Just got back from another weekend in NYC and this time, I met Kate Walsh!!!!!!
So originally, the plan was for me, my aunt, and Dave (guy she's seeing) to all go into the city because Dave worked in the city FOREVER and knows it super well. Well we ended up getting my aunt's kids for the weekend so we thought the plan was terribly thrown off. We decided to carry through with things the best we could because I had tickets for the premier of Angels Crest at the Tribeca Film Festival. Plus, we got to stay at Dave's friends apt on the upper west side (which, btw, was right across the street from the cafe where You've Got Mail was filmed). So anyways, the first day, we went to the Children's Museum for a little bit and let the kids run around and play and stuff. Then, we got dinner at this awesome little Italian place. On the way to the Italian place, we passed Julianne Moore at a crosswalk lmfao. She had on big glasses and was "talking" on the phone. So yeah, ate and then headed to the festival and got in line and Joely Richardson passed on the sidewalk (Yes, she is just as freaking gorgeous in person though she doesn't look as tall as she does in pictures haha) but she was also "on the phone" so she didn't stop. As the line moved up, we saw the cameras going crazy and then realized that Kate Walsh had arrived so we got through the entrance as they were taking pics of her on the red carpet. Jeremy Piven and Thomas Dekker were being interviewed along the way and Kate moved on to be interviewed. Got quite a few pics of them being interviewed... especially Kate. Mira Sorvino and Lynn Collins were already inside. So yeah then we realized there was this clear part of rail and we went over there and as Kate passed, Dave called out and asked her to come take a pic with me... AND SHE DID! She didn't really say anything, but she immediately squat down, wrapped her arm around me, and he took the pic. She is even more gorgeous in person. So yeah then we went into the movie and it was super good. And afterwards there was a Q&A with the cast and director and they all had really great personalities so it was a lot of fun.
So yeah that was day one... and day two was going to the American Museum of Natural History, then to Toys R Us (got to ride the Ferris Wheel, fuck yeah!) and then we headed back home... but Dave and I went back out to the cafe which was AMAZING. It's a really cute place with a really indie atmosphere. I had hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps and a chocolate raspberry mousse cake. They were AMAZING. It's called Cafe Lalo on the upper west side if anyone ever gets down that way. I highly recommend it.
I'll get around to posting the pics from Tribeca some time today or tomorrow for sure. LOL they're not press quality but I think they're pretty awesome anyway.
