Yeah, yeah, I'm still here. :D

The title of my post totally belies its content, which is hopeful and positive. The title is just something I had to say. That's cryptic and I apologize. Everything else is on the up and up ( Read more... )

1. Super jealous of your office. While I am laid up in bed I have to work on a laptop balanced on the one good leg and it is quite uncomfortable. Not that I could sit up at a desk right now anyway but STILL.

2. YAY, I'm so glad you're back! Sorry we are leg pain buddies but yeah, I've been thinking of you while all this is going on and wishing I could talk to you. :)

Yay, great to see you again!

And, heck, I don't see a problem with Christmas in January - it spreads out the cheer. :) (And I hope you never see my living room - it's a disaster ALL the time. :P)

I hope the knee surgery truly allows recovery; I know how much you suffered after the initial surgery.

*hugs you*

Hello!

You can d/l fic from AO3. There's a button that says download and if you choose the mobi format, you can then open it in your kindle.

Further detail: take any mobi file and email it to your kindle address. To do this you must (one-time-only) log into your Amazon kindle account (thru Amazon on your pc) and enter any email address that you'd like to receive mail from (basically just your own, unless other folks want to send you mobi files). This prevents spam to your Kindle.

Other useful programs are Calibre, a free format changing program. Also http://www.squeebook.net/
for conversion of stuff that you don't have auto Mobi formatting for. I sometimes just do text copy and paste in that program and convert that to mobi.

I love your office! I have no space for one right now, but hopefully when we move I will. Until then, I'm in my recliner with the laptop balanced on the arm.

We are still sort of doing Christmas, too. Unexpected expenses came up in December, plus my main gift arrived broken :( So we're still ordering things and surprising each other. Tanner, of course, was taken care of on the day, since he is still doing the Santa thing.

I was unsure about my Kindle at first, too. My husband wanted me to get one because I just had books piled up everywhere. It's nice to have because I can hoard books without making a mess, lol, though I still buy hard copies of books I love (like Harry Potter, of course). It's also good for travel, and it's nice to know that if I finish what I am currently reading, there is another book at my fingertips.

I watched a few episodes of Penny Dreadful. It's good, nice and dark, but I had so much else going on that I ended up dropping it. I will probably binge at some point ( ... )

Boo that you had that many cavities all at once but I'm thrilled you had a relatively easy process with getting them fixed, so to speak. I've had two root canals and had no real problems (also was surprised by how easy it was considering how people talk about root canals like they are the worst form of torture; sure, I hate the dentist because I'm constantly having to get things done but the root canals were not that bad. Now, getting an implant was...a little worse ( ... )
