We are still sort of doing Christmas, too. Unexpected expenses came up in December, plus my main gift arrived broken :( So we're still ordering things and surprising each other. Tanner, of course, was taken care of on the day, since he is still doing the Santa thing.
I was unsure about my Kindle at first, too. My husband wanted me to get one because I just had books piled up everywhere. It's nice to have because I can hoard books without making a mess, lol, though I still buy hard copies of books I love (like Harry Potter, of course). It's also good for travel, and it's nice to know that if I finish what I am currently reading, there is another book at my fingertips.
I watched a few episodes of Penny Dreadful. It's good, nice and dark, but I had so much else going on that I ended up dropping it. I will probably binge at some point.
ETA: Oh, and I am very curious about your thoughts on JKR's comments on Draco, because I was pretty irritated by them (imo, they had shades of Anne Rice's 'you're interrogating the text from the wrong perspective' nonsense). I've been irritated by JKR's post-Potter behavior, on the whole, to be honest.
