We've tried to watch some of our favorite childhood classics during ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas shows -- but after suffering through their butchering of Santa Claus is Coming to Town and A Charlie Brown Christmas, we're giving up. At my office, the paper towel dispenser in the ladies' room has been empty all day, and there's a sign on it that says "Out of Service: Our Engineering staff has been notified."

Engineers?  For paper towels?  And it's taking them more than 6 hours to refill the dispenser?  Amazing.

Okay -- my boss (who lives in the District) mentions that his son's day care class went on a field trip yesterday.  I'm thinking, "how nice, maybe they got to visit a museum" --- NO.

The field trip was to a McDonalds.

Over the last few days, musicbyoscar and I have seen several commercials for high fructose corn syrup.  The commercials are not promoting a specific food -- just one ingredient.  They try to convince you that HFCS is the same thing as sugar and that it's safe to eat it in moderation.

I used a highlighting kit yesterday (the same brand I've used before) to add a few light auburn streaks to my hair -- and 3 of the streaks (at 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00) turned VERY blond.  Now I'm going to have to go buy something to cover them up because it looks too weird to have blond splotches on one side of my head and nice auburn highlights on ( Read more... )

Prior to the Olympics tonight I was watching the Olympic recap on the NBC Nightly News, and during the 20 minutes that I watched, I saw commercials for Restasis, Advair, Caltrate, Centrum Silver, Beano, Detrol LA, Nasonex, Centrex, and Boniva.   During which there was a news article about problems with Olympic Doping ( Read more... )
