Trying to Get Back Into Things

Mar 28, 2011 12:07

It has now been just over four months since my last entry. Why is it so difficult for me to update? It's not like I'm just so busy that I don't have the time? I should be able to take a few minutes out of my day -- play one fewer game of Solitaire, maybe -- to talk about what's going on. I know that if I could get into the habit, it wouldn't seem like such an insurmountable task because there wouldn't be weeks and weeks to talk about.

So... major developments.

* The move went off without a hitch and we've been in the new place for a few months now. We still really like it, though we're going to be looking for a house to rent at the end of this lease. We're a little tired of having people just above or just beside us making noise at all hours.

* The relationship with Annie and Matthew continues to go well. We haven't really had a chance to push any physical aspects as of yet, but it's still great to have really close friends. We've discussed the possibilities of all of us getting a place together, but Saundra and I have questions about their level of fiscal responsibility that make us wonder if that's the best idea. Our hope is that if living with us is something important to them, they'll make the necessary adjustments to their lifestyle.

* Kris (Saundra's co-author) is planning to move in with us in June. This will definitely help their writing, and since Kris does at least have marketable skills, her getting a job shouldn't be a problem. The extra income would help us get out of debt.

* Annie, Matthew, Kris, Saundra, and Saundra's mom all went in together to buy me a Kinect for Saundra and my anniversary, and that is a TON of fun. We have Kinect Adventures and Dance Central, both of which are fun to play, especially with other people around. And it feels really good to have other people around to laugh and hang around with.

* My first published short story (under my pen name of Erik Moore) is now available separate from the anthology it was originally printed in. It's a M/M/F polyamory story with what has been described as a "very hot" threesome scene. It's $1.49 for the ebook version, which gives you all four major formats: EPUB, Kindle, LIT, and PDF. I'd really love it if people would give it a look.

I think that about sums it up for the moment.
