It seems like forever and a day since I last wrote on this site. And what better excuse to write than on the eve of my 30th birthday. How time flies! Funny thing is that I don't "feel" 30. I feel as young and energetic as ever. To celebrate, my friend (Kathy) is throwing me a big 'ol party in the Studio City Hills. A really nice house with a big pool. My band might even play up on the stage. We'll see if we can get it together in time. Things should get rolling around 3pm and carry into the late night. Should be fun and nice to see some people.
Things have been going very well all around. My job promoted me a couple of times and now I'm doing some field work. The company I work for does video production work for the legal field. It's a pretty decent and (usually) stress-free job. Being in the office often reminds me of the old days working for Video Services at SSC. We all get along and have fun doing our work. The company is growing and looking to hire some additional dub room techs so that can only be a good thing. We started interviewing some new people recently but I don't think they've settled on anymore people yet. They keep asking me if I know people because I just got my friend, Steve, hired. They think he's great and things are working out. Well, we'll see who joins the crew next.
I've picked up so much gear now for film making it's crazy. But still more stuff to get! I'm happy that "Cocaine Eulogy" was picked up on Amazon.com's Tribeca Film Festival. Another film, "Somewhere In Between," just got accepted into a film festival in Wisconsin. I DP'ed both of these. Got some more stuff in the works so things should be getting even more interesting.
On a side note, I'm looking for an in-line skating partner. Someone who'll commit to a few days during the week. Mornings would be best in North Hollywood area. Think hard street skating for fitness (and fun). Anybody interested go ahead and contact me.
Well, time to clock out and head home.
Cheers,
