I have reason to feel hopeful for the future of Octocon. I know this is going to come as a surprise to a few of you, and it's certainly at variance with things I've said here passim about the con, but I think that they are aware of their problems, are aware of the source of a lot of those problems, and have done something about it ( Read more... )

We're running out the door in a few minutes to go to the airport to fly to Birmingham, and thence to Northampton, where we'll be attending NewCon 4 for the weekend. Before that, though, we're to have dinner this evening with Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie, who we get to introduce to Paul Cornell and his wife Caroline, who will also be joining us.

We're off to NewCon 4 in Northampton on Friday morning, and are hoping to be there by early/mid afternoon. We have plans for some of Friday, but if you're about we'll probably see you there.
