This amuses me greatly:
Plans underway for MacGyver movie, especially this bit:
MacGyver ran from 1985-92, and starred Richard Dean Anderson from Stargate: Atlantis and SG-1 as an extremely resourceful secret agent.
How times have changed. It used to be whenever Stargate was mentioned, the media would remind us all that Anderson was the former star of MacGyver *g* I am also muchly amused by the BBC's choice of accompanying photograph. It's not of Mac, but it's not of present day Anderson either :D
Yesterday was the final weigh-in day for the Y program. In total I lost 4.2lb. Not bad I suppose, especially since I really only want to lose 20lbs in total. The new program begins today; the weigh-in is this evening. Guess who's eating like a little piggy today? *g*
Yesterday afternoon, H was going to go for a ride and I was going to listen to the Pens game. That changed while we were at the Y. Ink commandeered H to be one of the cycle escorts for a half marathon that the Y was doing in the afternoon. I was quite content to sit at home and have some 'me' time listening to the game, but she then added that I could ride in the front car with her. So that's what we did. H and another guy made sure all the runners were okay, cycling up and down the length, while Ink and I drove slowly ahead of the pack, letting all water stations know that the first runners were behind us and then calling the turnaround point to inform them of who the last place folks were. The winning guy had a time of around 1hr 15. The last place duo strolled in at just under 3 hours (still bloody impressive!). Meanwhile, she and I discussed immigration costs (she's from Finland), how to access world news, European chocolate, the Euro etc. which made for a cool time.
We got done with the volunteering just in time for H to take a brief shower before we rushed out the door to our Financial Peace class. There, we ran into Nate (well, the class is held at his dad's church) and caught up with him. I'd not seen him since we went to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra before Christmas. His wife, H's unofficial step-sister, has had pneumonia for the past two weeks which isn't good. Thankfully, their 4 girls are fine.
