My eyes watered from the howling wind blowing against my face. I looked down at my new skis. They were covered in snow. I stomped them on the ground in attempts to get all the snow off, but had no luck.
“Here let me help you with that.” I heard someone say in a deep voice.
Trying to keep my balance I turned around slowly to see who was talking to me.
“You must be new to the whole skiing thing.” Said a young man about my age. His un-straped his snowboard and walked over to me.
“Yeah! How can you tell?” I asked puzzled.
“Your boots aren’t strapped on tight enough.” He informed me.
“I take it you used to ski?” I said and glanced over at his red snowboard laying on the ground.
“Yeah I started skiing when I was five. I just took up snowboarding last year. I still ski from time to time.”
“Oh. Wow so you must be good. This is my first time ever.”
“First time ever and you’re here by yourself?” He tilted his head.
“Yeah I figured I’m a teach myself kind of person, and that I’d be able to get the hang of it right away. But now I’m not so sure. I kind of wish there were someone who would show me the basics.”
