My mom has been encouraging me to watch home makeover shows lately, especially those about reducing clutter. A former classmate of mine is on the admissions staff for the I-house. He was getting on a bus when he saw me on my way to class, and told me that he saw my application and that I should get my contract in about a week.

The I-House has officially received my application, but would not tell me when they would send out contracts (the I-House is quite strange about not having deadlines). Basically, I will be in limbo for an unknown period of time. Sigh. At least the application wasn't lost in the mail...

I just dropped my International House application off at the mailbox. It's too late to be picked up today, but the first pickup is at 9:30am. I should apply to live in the I-house. I'm a bit worried about being accepted, though-they get more applicants than rooms. And the rooms are small doubles with bunkbeds. Well, apparently I get to inform our landlord that we're not renewing the lease. Somehow I have to get written notice to him by Thursday, which probably means that I have to call and ask him to pick it up (he does do that for checks).

I really, really don't want to do this. I don't think I ever completely believed it would happen.

I did sort of attempt to find a roommate (word of mouth from Sue-Ting). However, she wisely decided to go to the dorms her first year at Cal (she's transferring). Ah well. I'll just have to make an effort to exercise more so that I don't gain weight while living at home. And learn to get up super-early ( Read more... )
