Green, 2-liter bottles make for a terrific greenhouse to grow ferns from spores
Back in 2010, I decided to make a serious effort to sow fern spores so that I could create a more controlled harvest of the delicate maidenhair fern. The reason i say delicate is because Los Angeles is a desert.

The Fern spores I planted last year have sprouted. Oddity is that I planted two pots, one container was kept outside. It was prepared about a month or more before second container, which is the pot that seems to be sprouting on hormones. Instructions called for using a sealed container like Tupperware to keep the humidity high. As far as I can ( Read more... )
