Mean Girls is a fantastic movie

Yes my friends, I too succumb to the lures of stupid teen movies. Except this isn't just a stupid teen movie, it's a stupid teen movie written by Tina Fey(head writer for SNL for those of you who aren't privy to all the hip info). It was brilliant! We watched it 2 consecutive nights in a row and I highly suggest that you all try and see it. I cannot possibly hope to recreate the magic for you, all I can do is suggest you get off your ass, go rent it, get back on your ass and watch it. Okay, now for some other really cool info:
I'M GOING TO SEE NATHAN LANE IN THE PRODUCERS NEXT WEEK!!!!!! NATHAN LANE!!!!! Could I possibly emphasize this enough? Certainly not. NATHANLANENATHANLANENATHANLANE!!! I'm sooooo excited I could just spit. Anywayz, my American flatmates are leaving me for good next week. I'm going to be sooo lonely without them. They're so much fun! Now I'm going to be out 2 really good friends and 2 Welsh people are going to move in and I will be in hell. Okay, since I have delayed these things for far too long I will try to write down my trips to Rome and Ireland in one big swoop!

ROMA
-Arrived with all of our baggage and hadn't gotten a hold of Courtney and didn't know where to go or what to do.
-By some miracle, Courtney somehow remembered when we were flying in and just went to the bus station and randomly found us!
-Saw ssoo many beautiful things there! The churches are absolutely fantastic. The first one Courtney took us to looked like crap on the outside but was absolutely fantastic on the inside. Also, Courtney is so into what she's learning about the architecture and such over there that she was able to tell us almost anything that we could ever want to know about the buildings or people.
-The first restaurant we went to Courtney got up to go to the bathroom and tripped right in front of all of the cooks and waiters. They all laughed and made sure that when she came back from the bathroom that she wouldn't trip over the same step again. They then took all of us into the kitchen and had us take pictures with the waiters and staff. It was soo fun. Then, of course because I have a bladder the size of a pine nut, I had to go to the bathroom. As I walked over one of the waiters made sure I wouldn't trip and I laughed because I couldn't understand him and felt kinda dumb. When I came out of the bathroom(after a quick struggle with the door that for a moment seemed bent on trapping me there forever) I began to walk back to my table which was located in the next room. I was stopped by one of the guys who was behind the counter making the pizzas(I should mention that we were the only one's in the restaurant at this time) who started speaking to me very quickly in Italian. My eyes got really wide and I shook my head indicating that I didn't understand. One of the waiters at this moment had grabbed my hand and preceded to write something on it, so I was being spoken to in a language I did not understand while my hand was being written on. Finally the guys just started saying, "Name! Name!" "Oh! Name!" I said. I told them it is Liz, which I find that because it is so short, it is rather difficult for people from other countries to understand what I say the first time. They eventually got it kind of right and then they beckoned me behind the counter. I couldnn't go yet becausee the waiter was still writing on my hand(when I looked on my hand I realized that he had written his phone number). When I got behind the counter they pointed at a lump of dough and indicated that they wanted me to roll it out. So I began rolling out the dough and one of the waiters went to the next room and told all of my friends, "Come! Liz is making pizza!" Thoroughly confused they all came in and burst out laughing. They then had every one of us make, toss, and put the dough(to which they added rosemary and olive oil) in the oven. Oh, my friends it was divine. We made many friends that night. The best part, though, was when the pizza guy began rolling out the dough for the pizza I had ordered and began pointing at me as he rolled the dough in the shape of a heart. I later enjoyed a heart shaped pizza. It was fantastic, and as soon as I get my pics from courtney I promise I will force myself to learn how to puut them on the internet for all of you to enjoy.
-We climbed so many stairs again! For the love. By the end we were a little snippy to the people who figured it would be okay to cut in front of the Americans waiting in line to climb to the top of St. Peters. Bad idea. We spent a long time fuming over a VERY large Italian woman and her family who blatantly cut in front of us. We kept on cursing her and hoping that she would become stuck in the narrow stairwell. I know this is INCREDIBLY inappropriate and mean, but we were on our last tether.
-Got to the top of the inside portion of the dome in St. Peters that looks down on all of the people inside. I didn't realize that we were so high or that we'd just all of a sudden be looking straight down from very high up. So I just walked straight in after Leslie and Matt and let out a monstrous gasp and in an attempt to get as far away from the rail as I could ran my back into the wall so hard that the thud was audible. Matt turned and goes, "Oh crap! I forgot you were afraid of heights I should of had my camera on you!" Matt's a little bundle of sympathy in case you hadn't noticed.
-Made it to the top because I'm awesome! I actually hadd a harder time inside the dome than I did on the very top. hmmm.
-Saw the Sistine chapel! I walked in and I had expected the room to have been bigger and taller. Having stood in line for forever and a day that morning without a jacket so I was rather cold, tired and snippy, I went to the back where there were benches and I sat down. I looked across from me at my favorite part of the chapel and just sat for a while. All of a sudden it swept over me that I was actually in Rome and actually looking at a famous work of art that I had always wanted to see. It was a bit overwhelming. It was wonderful.
-Crap. I have to go to class soon and I can't remember much more.

DUBLIN:
-COLD
-Highlight of the trip was going to the guinness factory and getting our complimentary guinness at the top floor. There is an amazing picture matt took of me holding my pint while a little demonic-looking kid stands behind me looking like he's about to snatch it from me! It's such a great picture!!!
-We went pub crawling one night and Ben and I "borrowed" a pint glass from a pub called The Hairy Lemon. How ccould we resist with a name like that?
-We saw genuine riverdancing there! I have a couple of pics. It's just a couple of kids around my age dancing at a hotel, but it was still pretty cool. I also couldn't tell if the male dancer(1 guy 2 girls) was either totally gay or shagging both girls. It was all up in the air.
-We tried to visit a couple of churches but one had an admission fee and the other was holding a graduation. So we took our cold, frugal selves to a cafe and just sat for a while. We had lunch at an Indian restaurant and took the bus to the airport.

That's about all. Ireland was fun, but we never went there with a game plan and there wan't that much to do in Dublin anyway, so I apologize for the lack of info I can offer.

That's it, my lovelies. I'll write again later when something else worthwhile happens
