Alrighty…well…lotta crap's happened

Okay, first of all, if anyone feels like calling me on my cell phone you can't. It was stolen off of my ear while I was standing and talking in the dark at 12am like the idiot I am in a pseudo-dangerous area right by my school. Yeah, I'm pretty stupid. But here's what even more stupid (and yet a funny insight to my impetuous character): these 2 black guys, mid 20's, dressed in dark clothing, ran past me and one of them managed to grab the phone from me as I held it to my ear. I paused for literally one second and watched them as they ran away. At this point the irrational part of my brain kicked in and said, "Hey, they aren't running that fast" and I sprinted after them. The guy who had actually taken my phone was running faster than the other guy but I was getting really close to both. I was also carrying a jar in my hand that was fairly large and weighted. I have pretty good aim and as I'm running after this guy I know for a fact that I can hit him in the back of the head with this jar. But just as I'm about to put this idea into action the rational part of my brain catches up and informs me that these are 2, rather strong looking guys that I'm running after, and the other one could easily take me out even if I managed to knock the other guy out. So I began to slow down but that didn't change the fact that I had totally caught up to the second guy, who obviously was not expecting me to run after them in the first place because when he turned around he had a suprised expression on his face. The 2nd guy stopped running and I looked at him and said, "Why would you do that?" and he just shrugged his shoulders, all pleased with himself and his "manly" ability to steal from someone weaker than him, and walked off. So that's my story, people, and in a way I'm kind of glad it happened because if I'm going to live in the city when I'm older I have to wise up NOW and learn to be much more careful than I thought I was being (because honestly, this was the first stupid thing I had done since I've been here) in addition to finally allowing myself to get rid of the idea that I am invincible and that nothing bad can ever happen to me. The consequences have become real and, thankfully, they were much less extreme this time around than they could have been. So I have learned a valuable lesson at a fairly low cost. Now I must be off to do certain deed, like write a paper, but I promise to write again soon and finally fill you in on my Roman experience as well as my Dublin excursions
