Here, my lovelies, is a quick overview of my paris adventure:
-Got to Paris in the evening and the first touristy site I saw was the Eiffel Tower. It was all lit up and it was absolutely stunning. A man walking around on the bottom kept trying to shove a rose in my hand(literally shoving this thing in my face) but there was nothing doing. After Eiffel Tower we went to see the Arc de Triomphe. Matt kept building it up and as we were climbing the escalator from the tube station he said, "Brace yourselves!" and when we reached the top half of the Arc was under construction. He was so mad, but we were laughing so hard!
-Basically within 2 days we visited all of the major sites. Saw the Mona Lisa in La Louvre. People kept telling me that it would be smaller than I would expect and that I would be disappointed, but I as a result of this I expected the thing to be rediculously tiny (8 1/2 x 11 or so) so that when I actually saw the painting it was much bigger than I had anticipated. That was a plus. It's been really well kept.
-Also saw Venus de Milo in La Louvre. That was kinda cool. We did the museum last on our second day so that by the end of it we were walking so slow and every corner we took we found more stairs. We were exhausted and by the end of it I literally had to push Matt up the stairs.
-Climbing: Climbed sooooo many stairs you wouldn't believe. Climbed Arc and I forgot my ticket so I had to go back and buy a new one (which sucked!) and everyone else went on ahead. I ended up going back downstairs to the underground ticket booth, bought my ticket, walked back upstairs, had the security guard rip my ticket and inspect my backpack, climbed the stairs, took a rest halfway, got to the top and found myself face to face with the others and upon seeing me they said, "holy crap! we literally just reached the top!" I guess I'm just a good stair climber?
-Climbed Notre Dame and had a wonderful view of Paris. Beautiful. The gargoyles are sooo cool! Anyone ever see the TV show "Gargoyles?" I used to watch that show all the time. Loved it.
-Went to a duck restaurant where we all got high off of exquisite food and wine. For 32 euro we got an appetizer, main course, pate and bread, and desert along with 2 bottles of wine. We were fat and happy by the end of it.
-I made friends with the waiters and enemies with the waitresses. At one crepe stand the lady thought I ordered something I had not and when I corrected her she started slamming things around and muttering, most likely obscenities, under her breath while she made me another one. She was not happy. We all watched her very closely to make sure she did not spit in my food.
-I think that's all I can remember for now. I'll fill you in on what happened in ROme later. That story's much better than this one!
