Sit Back Down Where You Belong...

Well, an evening below zero means I'm not scooting tomorrow morning even though it'll be like +16 by the afternoon. Ah well. We had such a beautiful summer. Maybe I can get a couple more weeks of scooting/bicycling weather yet. I covered up the tomatoes, but I probably shouldn't do that much longer. I just want them to be ripe before plucking, ya know?

Thanks to all the lovely migrating Canada geese, I have feathers galore for crafting purposes. I've been using a dry heat method to sterilize them in case of concerns of mites and stuff. I'm not worried about that, but just in case I make any feather gifts, I want to be able to reassure people that they are sterilized.

Andrew took the dogs to the vet yesterday. I gave them a few chunks of tomatoes last week and then discovered that tomatoes are bad for dogs. Oy. Well, Romeo started the shitstorm and then Mia started the next day. This went on for nearly a week so enough was enough with the messes and such. They had no other symptoms. The vet said they're both healthy and she can't see anything wrong. Here's where the internet lied to us: The internet says canned pumpkin is good for dogs with diarrhea. NOPE! DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT ADVICE! Canned pumpkin is great for constipation as they'll shit their faces off. In other words, the shit-fest here may have ended much sooner had we not been giving them pumpkin! >.< Damn you, internet! Anyway, it was better to be on the safe side and we got some meds to settle their tums. The vet also mentioned she's happy Mia's lost some weight, but it sounds like she should lose a couple more pounds so we'll keep working at that.

Fall means lots of TV watching as new shows and old favourites start back up. It pretty much makes me feel overwhelmed. I mean, I was super stoked when True Blood started and now I'm bummed that it's done. I'm happy Vampire Diaries (shut up!) is back on and ecstatic that Modern Family starts tonight. It just seems like you spend summer barely watching the TV and then you're back to having to watch it all the time. I don't think I'll get into any new series because, honestly, I don't feel like watching TV all that much right now. I'd rather craft, read, play with the dogs, be online, whatever. I'll feel differently when the snow comes.

I e-mailed a scrapyard (Buck's) today to get a quote on Thundercracker. In case I haven't mentioned, I want the car gone by the end of the month so I'm not paying insurance on it next month. Plus, it just makes me sad seeing it. I haven't got any bites from my ads online so, yeah, I'm going to have to hope that I can get something from a scrapyard or just end up donating it.

Like a lot of people, Facebook's latest reformatting has irked me to the point where I've now made a Google+ account. I'm convinced someone in Facebook must work for Google+ and is intentionally pushing people to switch over. Or they're just so clueless as to how their users want to interact and get updates.

I see today that the neighbours sold their house. I hope douchebags don't move in.
