I Want To Ride My Bicycle...

My parents came to the city today and Dad looked at my car. He figured the thermostat is part of the problem, some blockage with the coolant is the other problem, and he took it for a drive without overheating. Sweet. Mom suggested they take the car for a further drive to see if it overheated. I warned them that the distance they were planning on going could end with the car stalling. Sure enough, it stalled and this time not nearly as far of a distance as it normally takes to stall. After sitting for awhile, it finally got going and it's parked outside again. Needless to say, I don't feel comfortable driving my car. Also, I don't have the money to get it looked at/fixed by a mechanic right now (especially with the possibility my scooter will have to go in, too) so parked it will stay.

Yesterday, Andrew and I checked out the Titanic exhibition. It was pretty neat. I was expecting more artifacts than there were. There seemed to be more photos and write-ups than artifacts from Titanic itself, or maybe that's just me. It was pretty neat. The person I was on the boarding pass was Ida Straus so I died as I refused to leave without my husband. Pretty romantic and courageous. Andrew's person was a Norwegian 3rd class immigrant...who lived! He obviously lived as a coward, the bastard.

After that, we headed to Woodcock Cycle and I got a new bicycle. It's a Giant Bowery Mashup that I got on massive sale (it was on sale and the salesgirl knocked it down even more). It's a nice, super light, single speed commuter bike which is what I was looking for. It's grey and black with a red bike chain and I got a red water bottle holder installed. Before you ask, yes, I sold my awesome Supercycle cruiser bike in order to make this purchase. I'll miss my Supercycle, but it went to a good home (my hairstylist).

I got my hair touched up this morning and I tried my hand at the commute from Osborne Village home (approximately 16 kms, roughly an hour). I'm not going to lie, the first 10 - 15 mins were brutal. After that, it wasn't too bad and, dare I say, enjoyable. Then I encountered a train slowing/stopping so I sat waiting about 15 mins so that wait caused some suckage with getting back into biking. Anyway, if it wasn't for the train and the stop at a store, I would have been home in just under an hour, closer to 45 mins. The plan is for me to do that commute to and from work tomorrow (eeeek!) as I don't want to take the bus if I don't have to. Stay tuned!

OH! It looks like a fucking mouse has got in the garden again this year as someone has been eating my strawberries just as they ripen! >.< Pretty mad, dudes, especially when half a strawberry was gnawed (the ripe part with the green unripe portion remaining).

Annoying: For the past while, I've tasted blood off and on in my mouth. I felt around with my tongue and thought I felt a canker sore at the back of my top left jaw. I felt in there yesterday with my finger and, nope, that would be my wisdom tooth which has broken through the skin. *sigh* That would explain the headaches and terrible jaw pain a few weeks ago. Now it's all I think of in my mouth and my tongue keeps going to it and I keep tasting blood. I want it gone. I have dental coverage at work, but even at 80% coverage, I'm sure it would still end up costing me a couple hundred bucks so I guess it will just have to wait or we'll see if it becomes more unbearable.
