It's been a few days since my surgery. I can't say often enough how I wish they would have put in a few sutures instead of me having to rely on mere tape to hold my incision together in my belly button. Andrew and I had dinner with his family yesterday. It was my first car ride since Friday and I thought with every bump that my guts were going to burst out of my navel. Jesus. Awful, awful feeling. I'm having mostly lower back pain which my doctor has said is quite normal because of how small I am and that I should expect this to go on all week. So, pain meds, pain meds, and more pain meds for me. Can they make pain killers that don't cause a disruption in your BMs? That would be great. Oh, and Mia accidentally hoofed me (not super hard, at least) in the stomach yesterday below the incision so right where all the insides were affected. Some crying on my part, but it was an accident and I was fine after awhile.
My naturopath got my blood results for me and I'm quite happy.
Results (Jan 11/11):
Hemoglobin 140 (Normal=120-160)
Ferritin 34 (Normal=20-300)
B12 504 (Normal=133-630)
That is a very, very impressive amount of B12 for a vegan. In fact, I think I can safely say that's an impressive one even for omnis. So the good news is I can keep up my regime and not have to get injections.
I'm feeling a bit queasy right now so I think I should wrap this up and get back to bed so things don't get worse.
