Greener Living Soap Nuts...

As some of you may or may not know, I love "natural" products. That would explain my Lush obsession, why I use Lunapads and Diva Cup, why I like herbal teas (like this new PMS blend that just arrived in the mail today), etc, etc (I also like to support "natural" Canadian products whenever possible). And if those natural products also happen to be vegan, even better!

While watching Dragons' Den last night, a natural soap I had never heard of was featured. It's called Soap Nuts and basically it's berries that have cleaning abilities sans detergent chemicals. You can watch the segment by the owners of the company here. One of the investors didn't like the way the product smelled. To me, as long as the clothes don't stink when they come out of the wash then I'm happy. In fact, I personally dislike the fact that our clothes smell like detergent after they've been washed so I'd rather have no scent or just a clean, natural scent. I knew right away I had to check this out and inevitable order some. I decided to go with the "Just Trying It Out" Value Bundle because that much soap will last Andrew and me quite a long time and also I like that it comes with Buncha Farmers Stain Remover (I had been eyeballing that product on Lunapads). The fact it also comes with coconut fibre scrub pads is icing on the cake. I figure it's going to take awhile for this to arrive because of last night's episode, but hopefully I'll get the products within the next couple of weeks.

I also enjoy the fact that the Soap Nuts and coconut fibre scrub pads can be tossed into the compost bin when they're no longer of use. :) Score for the environment!

I seem to be developing unusual looking lesions and bumps on my body. I have these weird small dry patches on my neck and a couple of red bumps here and there and the occasional itch fest. I have no idea what this is from, but perhaps it's from the laundry detergent we're currently using. Before anyone suggests bedbugs: I steamed the bed and saw nothing that looked like any bugs are residing on/in the bed. :P

Work sent me flowers yesterday from Bloomex. The flowers are absolutely beautiful. :)
