Tonight, I got to throw out, not one, but TWO people.
The first guy wasn't actually tossed out by me, but was tossed out because of me. A cop pulled over an SUV right in front of the shop, and I popped outside to smoke and be a lookie-lou. Some guy at the show was out front doing the same. However, rather than just look, he was drunk enough that he thought it would be funny to yell, "There's no doughnuts in that car!" at the cop.
Yeah. Asshat idiot. I took note of his "Steal Your Face" Dead shirt and went inside and described him to the bartenders, and he was cut off. Let him back into the show, but he couldn't drink anymore. You're entitled to your opinions until you vocalize them towards a cop while at the establishment where I work.
He was cool with getting cut off, until he was spotted getting beers from his friend an hour later, at which time, he was told to leave. On his way out the door, he saw me, screamed "FUCK YOU, MAN!" and his friends apologized to me for the next five minutes. Whatever...
The next guy tried to walk out the door with his beer. When I reeled him back in he apologized, then waited until my back was turned and tried it again. I explained that the beer was mine now, and it was time for him to leave. He tried wheedling and offered to chug it, but I just kept prying his fingers off the can and politely told him that he had to leave. Eventually, it came down to a "you have 'til the count of five" to get him out the door.
Other than that, tho'... mellow evening checking IDs, drinking pop and reading Hitchhiker's Guide. The bands were good, the people were nice enough, and I really didn't have to worry about much other than that shit. Made some money, and I'm a little closer to my plane ticket fund.
Tomorrow is a much-needed massage, along with a visit from PJ and Andy.
the_lucky_nun and I were gonna hit Art In the Park, but I think we may just skip it this year. After
jimmycarter and Cam's reception, along with T. and mine's busy days today, a day of sticking at home sounds pretty good.
