Hereford Medieval Festival tomorrow, well later on today really. Busy busy busy. So I'm gonna be away from my laptop and mobiles get all upset at the time dilation when we travel to the fourteenth century so no emails for me tomorrow or alpha-ing fics.

Just me, Mr Sixpence, Remus and a drop spindle.

I hope it doesn't hammer down.

America is withering under a heatwave and it must be miserable for them. Here it has stopped raining and that is all that can be said for it. That's a favourite epithet of mine by the way.  We have spent the day getting all medieval in MOD St Athan for a forces family fun day. It was, to be frank, bloody nobblin'...and tipping down. And yet, there we all were traipsing about, being utterly British about the weather and rolling our eyes about the drought ( Read more... )

We have spent today in the 14th Century and it was huge fun as usual. The ladies sang, the children danced and made daisy chains, the men got to hit each other with swords. We ate pears in spiced red wine and marchpane too.  Rose got a bull in archery and the group were given banana cake by an impressed member of the public which we ate for lunch. ( Read more... )
