I bought a house today. Nothing special or remarkable about it. My 5th house actually .. I suppose average for my age/generation. While it's the most expensive I've ever bought, it carries the smallest equity of any since my very first (divorces and debt have a way of doing that) .. and the payments devestatingly reflect the loan to value ratio. Truly I am hoping hard that it all works out.
On the plus side, it's something of a "fixer-upper" and I do love projects. I am on the edge of thinking I may have bitten off more than I can chew -- vs being excited about all that it offers me to do.
Here is what I want: To bring the house up to all that it can be but stay within its fundamental value for the neighborhood (not overimprove it in other words). But to make it into a livable and enjoyable housing experience like my houses have been in the past.
And while all this is going on, I also want to continue with the work that I do to make a living, go to grad school, finally finish my book, and spend lots of quality time with the several wonderful women in my life. Thank you Santa, I've been very good!!
sincerely yours,
Keith
