Been Nudged
So I've been nudged and it's been April since my last confession ... So what has happened?
I've been phenomenally busy at work for a change. I've been looking more competent and the longer we go without a manager, the better I look as a candidate. I'm actually busy enough to agree that the program needs more staff. Two months ago when our manager left I had next to nothing to do, and was really questioning wht we were expanding to a staff of 7, but now...at least a few others would help. We got a new office director today, which doesn't effect me, as I report to our program manager. He should be really good. The program I work for worked closely with this guy for two years, and he was the best candidate. I'm still in the running for the program manager's position. They are reposting the job, in hopes to get the ideal candidate. I don't have the managerial experience they're looking for, but they said my interview was strong and I made the top three from this cut. The three of us will be included in with the new candidates they cull from the next round of applicants.
Okay everyone wake up, I'm done with the boring work stuff ... I pulled off a 75th surprise birthday party for my mom in Pennsylvania. I invited 12 of her best friends to the nicest restaurant in town and managed to surprise her with it. We then spent the rest of the weekend shopping and chatting. It was so nice and she really enjoyed it and appreciated it. And she's dating again (her 2nd husband died about a year ago). YAY!
Hubby and kids are good. Hubby hates his job, as usual. Kids got straight A's again this year. I am so lucky.
The PoU list is doing a reread of A Sirius Affair. I cringe a bit at some of it. I wish I could go through and rework the whole thing, but all in all, it isn't bad. I'm reading it and remembreing the creative rush of writing and I wish I could find that again, but there just isn't the space in my brain. I might try to write something smutty this weekend. I'll post it if I actually find that energy again.
Summer is planned and reserved, and will be done before we realize it. We're finally getting rain, but that means we're also getting heat. I eat my lunch outside, but today was a bit steamy. Oh and I'm starting to get hooked on Suduko puzzles.
Next up a cruise and a trip to Philly to drop the kids with grandma.
