Job Update
Thanks for all the encouragement on my last post... Monday was my boss' last day. The program has survived just fine since then. More importantly I just got finished applying for his position. You apply online and I was really nervous to hit the submit button, but I did.
The position closes April 28, so I won't even know who my competition is until then. After that it's usually a month of interviews, then a couple of weeks for the decision to be reached and approved. It will probably be memorial day before I know if I get to be the boss or who might be my new boss, if I don't get the position. I'll keep you all posted.
A lot will depend on who else applies. I know of a few people internally who might apply, two of which I would have a hard time working for. I hope they will see my maturity, organization, diplomacy and knowledge of the program as advantages. We'll see. Keep your fingers crossed, and wish me patience and good luck.
