don't wake me cause I'm dreaming

Jan 15, 2012 17:46

Who: Snake (snakeofaguy) & Joker (highest_trump)
When: backdated a week to January 8th
Where: Phancyhive Manor Gates → Joker's Motel Apartment
Summary: continued from here, Snake leaves the Phancyhive Manor behind and follows Joker back home to live for a bit.
Warnings: Nothing really? Some sad nostalgia and references toward the horrible fate of the circus, but nothing major.

[The touches are familiar, the feeling of warm skin on the back of his head and neck. Joker is warm and his heartbeat drums loud enough in Snake's ears to convince him- Joker's alive. All the scents and sounds are in place, as they should be, there's nothing that he can possibly be other than alive. If he's dreaming, if this is some magic trick by the Core or something else in this strange world, it's realistic enough to ensnare the snake man. Like the children before the Piper's pipe, Snake is charmed.

Yellow eyes stare up at Joker with dilated pupils, shocked and mesmerized by the revelation. Even when the man's bone fingers pinch his nose, he doesn't blink, only watching the clown.]

I waited. [I waited and you never came back. No one ever came back, no one said anything. No one told me anything. I didn't know where you'd gone. You left me alone. I was alone again, my family was gone. I tried to look for you, I left the circus behind to try to find you. The circus wasn't my home without my family. I couldn't find you. The Earl said you'd disappeared. He gave me a place to live, taught me how to do things the way he wants them done. I didn't know you were-

dead.

His lips don't move, but his mind flies through the story, through his adventures to try and find the people who loved him; the people who had saved him and made him feel cherished. But they'd been gone, and somehow he'd stumbled onto more people. And then he'd come here, and a few of those people hadn't remembered him. And then there'd been Elliot…

A hiccuping gasp clutches his throat as he presses himself into the warmth of Joker's body. It's cold, but the pain is back. Suit's words run through his mind, that everyone had died and he'd never known until he'd come here. And now Elliot is dead. All of his cherished people are dying, and it hurts. Fingers curl into Joker's sleeve as he shakes against the clown, trying to just hold on.]

I miss you.
