Good afternoon everyone; my name is Raul Creed, and I will be part of the group that is going to help make sure things run smoothly today.

Some of you may know me from the work I do at Lion's Gate, and some of you may know me from the Newcomer Political Party. I am glad that you all could come to this meeting, and to let your voice be heard. I'm sure that once everyone is on the same page, we won't have any problems in working together.

Thank you.

My name is Re-l Mayer and I'm a member of the SPPD. I'm also a caseworker, so if there's anything you need in the way of lodging, jobs, information, or anything else, I'd be happy to take your case and help you in any way I can.

There's a pamphlet circulating around the meeting for you all to have. Think of it as a bit of secondary information that you can refer to if you have any questions. Obviously, this is an open forum to answer those questions, but there's a list of numbers and contacts in the pamphlet that you can use if you think of anything else.

"Well I've got something to day-"

Pipes a rather brash and outspoken boy, the moment the floor is open for discussion and a three, four second uncertain pause of silence passes.

Joe Fieldman rises to his feet, folding chair making a harsh squeak against the floor. He folds his arms, scowling slightly. Time to see if these NPP leaders were really as interested in seriously helping people at all, or if they were just playing at looking important.

"I heard that people from the companies have been nosing around the Tower Apartments lately, trying to win over newcomers to join up."

And sure, this is going to be an outright neutral biased defensiveness, completely disregarding all hopes of balanced political diplomacy, he comes right out to say it-

"I think we've gotta stop that, before someone gets tricked into being a slave or a science project."

"Personally, I couldn't agree more." She'd been keeping a careful eye on the company people who were going in and out of the Tower Apartments, and they were starting to become an eyesore. She'd heard mild complaints throughout the week.

"The first thing I can advise is for people to make sure they know who they're speaking with and what they're selling or representing. Get their names, their numbers, and anything else before you even think about accepting their offer. Tell them you need time to think about it. Get any necessary paperwork they're handing out and read the fine print. Don't for a moment think that they're doing something out of the goodness of their heart." Bastards. "I know I can be down there a few mornings a week to be sure of what they're doing. But everyone needs to be cautious."

She shook her head. "Beyond that, we can't ask them to leave. They partially own the building."

"Which they?" He snorts, a little bit derisive, but that's mostly because he's angry. His tone tends to take on an aggressive edge, even if it's not directed at the committee.

It's not like they can really do too much, after all.

They didn't exactly rush to save Sam.

"AGI and SERO own it maybe on paper, but not the people they're sending down. Why can't we kick 'em out for hanging around where they don't belong? Any of them could be the newcomer killer, scoping us out! Or a spy for M.A.N!:"

[ Clover's mostly at this meeting out of curiosity than anything else, and possibly because she doesn't particularly have anywhere else to be. Most of it goes over her head, as the politics isn't really stuff she's interested in; the speed dating event, on the other hand, has her interest piqued.

After that, though, it's back to boring things, and she leans back in her chair to smother a yawn behind her hand. Huh. Maybe she should have just gone home early after all. ]

Firo had come to the meeting partly out of curiosity, and partly out of a growing need to feel informed. Even after living in the city for a few months, he still felt like he didn't know the first thing about what's going on in it: sure, he'd asked questions about some things and picked up on others here and there, but it's not nearly enough. If someone he knew were to arrive tomorrow, he wouldn't know where to start explaining in the workings and politics of the city.

Of course, just attending a single meeting wouldn't necessarily be enough help with that end, but it would be a start. He took a seat near the back of the room, looking over the pamphlet that Ms. Mayer had pointed out and quietly listening to the speakers.

By the time the meeting is called to a close, he's glad he came; suggestions of costumed 'speed dating' (whatever that was supposed to be) aside, it had proved informative enough.

There were a few familiar faces in the crowd from meetings before, and others which Yako hadn't had the opportunity to meet in person. Firo, of course, was one of the latter. It was long enough since they last spoke (months, and even then only in passing) that she had trouble placing a name to the face.

Still, once recognition hits her, she's quick to come over, for all that she's halfway through looping a scarf over and around her neck.

"Mr. Prochainezo--?" She flashes him an uncertain smile, offering her hand. "Ah, I don't know if you remember me, but it's good to meet you in person."

[Daedalus saves his notes, setting down his stylus and folding his NV shut.

He rubs tiredly at his face, not in the best of moods, and moves from his chair beside a drafty window to linger instead over near the heated side of the room, in front of the warmer air vents.

He misses the warmer months already- it's hard to concentrate on work, when it perpetually feels just a few degrees shy of comfortable.]

[ Yako glances over at Daedalus, curiously, as he rises and moves towards the air vents, but she doesn't approach him until a few minutes later-- and by then, she's holding two mugs of gently steaming tea, offering one two him as she steps up to his side. ]

Are you all right, Dr. Yumeno?

Ah- Thank You, Yako-

[When Daedalus smiles it's in involuntary relief, wrapping his fingers almost too-eagerly around the porcelain.]

And I'm fine, yes, it's...just the cold.
