[After last week's long talk about Diego's self-image problems, it's been all to clear to Re-l that something needs to change. He needs to think better of himself. Even assurances of his looks have done absolutely nothing. It took her a while to find a plan of action to fix this, something that wouldn't involve Maya. She promised not to speak about this to the girl, after all.
It had been relatively easy to convince Diego to go with her to a restaurant so they could chat. Something different than their usual coffee. And, unsurprisingly, he didn't seem at all concerned. So long as he didn't think he was actually on a date (not that he was)...
And so she waited until the check came, when she slid it over the table to him and told him to pay. "That's what guys do on dates, right?" It got the desired reaction. Five minutes later, out the door and heading down the street, she was still laughing about it.]
