This had to be the saddest room in the history of rooms. His hands settled on his hips when he first entered taking it all in with an almost disbelieving look. Not a poster. Nothing really. How can a person live like--! Then, he remembered that the guy was a hobo for who knows how long. Probably forgot how much fun it was to actually have these things available. It was all that he was thinking about as he was hooking up his game system ( ... )

"Don't even have what?- Oh." Right, High-Definition, Whatever. Really, Shinjiro hadn't even had his own TV. He'd had to take one from elsewhere in the house just for Yosuke visiting. What did he need one for? There was plenty of entertainment on the damn network, and he could always find other things to do, or just settle for getting lost in thought. Roland could be taken out, or.. whatever. He just wasn't that interested. He could just catch the news on the NV. "Just deal, it ain't like it's the end of the world ( ... )

Scratching the side of his face, he finished hooking the cords up with little difficulty, before sighing once more at the low quality of the television. "Seriously, this is almost ancient technology." This he partially muttered under his breath but loud enough for Shinji to hear. If he bitched enough about it, he wondered if the other would get a new television set.

"You actually know 'em?" Yosuke blinked a few times at Shinji. Well, he supposed that everyone knew of them, so he shouldn't be that surprised. Still, he at least had enough sense to resist saying how much he absolutely adored them -- not that he hadn't already let it be known that he did by searching for a fighting game that reminded him of said show. I suppose I could blame them for giving me the idea of wanting to be a hero. Is that blame or a thank you? He laughed softly to himself but added aloud, "I dunno how much fun that will be. Fighting games aren't much fun to watch unless you're beating the other person into submission ( ... )

"Well shit, lemme go pick up a new TV, just for you," He rolled his eyes, swearing under his breath. Because he needed something new and shiny that he'd never use with all the money he didn't have. He still hadn't gotten a job, after all: really, sometimes he was amazed they managed to sustain themselves, the house, and the dog on Minako's income. Well, and whatever rent the other residents paid. Who knew ( ... )

"Oh Shinji, would you?" He made a dismissive gesture after the affectionate manner he spoke. Worth a shot, he supposed. Not that there was much a shot in convincing someone to buy something that they apparently badly used. Yosuke had been saving his money since he started living with Raul. He still wasn't sure what it was that he was going to use it on, but he was just happy that he didn't have to worry about the usual moochers taking it away from him. Yet even as he tried to make light of it, he couldn't help but miss it a little when it was taken from him to pay for something related to his friends. Ah, no, getting all sappy."It's not just for kids, you know." A responding blank expression greeted Shinji. In a manner that was quietly telling him to knock that shit off. Somehow, he felt that if he did not do so that he would be hearing about how he killed a kids' show til the end of time. "What do you mean? You're a pretty good fighter in the real world. I don't think that it's not that much different." Minus the fact that it was not ( ... )

"Yeah, sure." Shinjiro spoke drying as he agreed to buying a TV, sarcasm thick and abundant. "Hell, lets go first thing in the morning. You can pick it out and everything." Fuck, if he had that sort of money, there were so many other things he would buy- a better rice cooker, maybe, or something for Roland. Hell, maybe even something for Minako, just to repay her for everything she'd done ( ... )

"Okay, hobo." Yosuke joined in the manner that Shinji was speaking. "We'll make it our next outing. I can even tell you what television is the best to get." One that is big enough to stick your head in. He stared at the set that he had just hooked up, then, and wondered. Souji had told him that there was no TV world on the other side -- and he didn't look to check after hearing such. No reason to do so, but the Core had been acting up. Could there actually be one now ( ... )

For a moment he wondered if Yosuke's obsession with TVs was because he allegedly fought in one- maybe he needed the best quality for some reason relating to that. But at the same time, they were just playing a fucking game, and it really didn't matter if the picture quality was a little grainy for that, right? "Sure thing. I'd hate to pick up something substandard when it's this important." And an eyerolle for good measure.

It was a damn TV after all. Definitely not the most important thing in the world ( ... )

SORRY FOR THE DELAY outbursting February 13 2011, 00:15:11 UTC
"Uh huh." Yosuke did not sound particularly impressed or believing that it was not Shinji who started saying the 'gay' stuff. It was one of those chicken-or-the-egg. Whoever stated it, he was sure to finish it, anyway. Besides, this was a good distraction for him, for them.

"Flip out while playing it." He repeated it in a mocking manner, but he was annoyed that the other was not remotely freaked out about it. Yes, he could handle the Darkness and the Shadows with relative ease, but when it came to pixelated monsters -- Yosuke was not the braves of gamers.

Clicking through intro video and start screen, he tilted his head if he wanted to do Easy, Normal, or Hard. To save his pride, he decided to choose Hard as what they should do. I swear that you are going to freak out first, you--! His grip on the controller tightened that much more as he wouldn't allow himself to lose to either game or Shinji.

"Oh, is that so? You sure that you don't want me to stay here and make sure that you can get to sleep."

fladks THAT'S OKAY MY DELAY WAS LONGER ;A; and dklfjs short tag, sorry. weaktobullets February 19 2011, 05:13:31 UTC
He raised a brow as Yosuke decided to play on hard mode. "...Sure you're up for that?" He glanced to the other man, as though to make sure Yosuke knew what a bad idea Shinji found this. "If you can't get past the opening without flailing 'bout, you might wanna pick a setting more geared for pussies." A cheap shot, too, but he was sure he'd be taking tons of them.

The game started, he shifted to get comfortable, crossing his arms behind his head as he laid back. "Fuck that. I'd have to kick Roland off the bed to make room for your fat ass." And Roland pissed him off less. Then again, the same could be said for nearly anyone. "If you're lucky you can take the couch downstairs. maybe the tub."

But definitely not in his room. That would be too weird.
