For Gifts: controllingluck December 22 2010, 18:04:31 UTC
[The Christmas Tree stands between both the doors of the hall on a table to make it a little taller and so gifts could be dropped off on it. If you left your gift with Himawari before the part started (because you aren’t going to be here or can’t, in some cases…) then it is already there. Post here who your gift is for and what was left. Himawari would have taken great care with it. If you arrive at the party but don’t intend to meet your person, place your gift under the tree with who it is for and what it is. Those of you who receive gifts may pick them up from the tree anytime ( ... )

[A lovely bonsai gardenia is left with a simple tag that has Aya's name scrawled across it. Nothing fancy; just a bow tied on there somewhere along with a card that has some information about the plant.

There's also a a little book on different worldly flora set under it similarly tagged.]

[Mr. Holmes, if he looked, would find a square box shaped gift. It was not wrapped but that was because the box was one of those Christmas style open top decretive boxes with a thick bow wrapped around and tied at the top. The bow was fake velvet and red, the box was green in color scheme ( ... )

Joe's present...was a bit heavy, two wrapped boxes containing second-hand volume sets of some very lengthy and terribly boring sounding non-fiction (But if the guy he was buying for had any problems with The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, they could take it up with Miles Edgeworth.

As a safety, or a consolation, he'd also included a shakeweight.

The replica was far more exhausted than he'd wanted to let on. His shift at 24 last night had ending at midnight and left him feeling restless again, and then he'd spent till dawn out among the darkness, power from the core and the eclipse almost overwhelming, like a painful amount of tight-coiled energy to get rid of, push away, spend up ( ... )

Nemu had signed Mayuri up for the Secret Santa without his prior knowledge, and he had thought of various ways to punish his daughter but in the end it was feeling rather generous upon opening the gift that he had received. He had already studied over the blue prints for the zydrate gun and begun to paln his own version with several modifications. However now he was studying one of the vials, one glowing slightly pink. The shinigami had decided to remain simply to allow Nemu time to observe several other residents since despite his nature she seemed to like it and once again he was feeling rather generous. With a wide grin Mayuri let out a rather pleased laugh, "Such a magnificent holiday."

He didn't even notice the replica that had passed out in the loveseat directly next to him as he cooed to himself.

He yawned, stirring, twisting a little but feeling much too drained to pull himself to full awareness. It was as if he'd run himself too ragged. And that was probably true....last night he'd chewed through at least a dozen mutation, the darkness demanding it. Much too aggressive, much too driven by adrenaline. Now, he just felt...burnt out. He hoped the exhaustion didn't last till the holiday, even though he had another late shift at the club that night.

Christmas music was familiar background noise by now, easy to turn out, but the voice closeby- It was familiar. He didn't recognize it straight away, who or where he'd spoken to the man, only that he'd heard it before.

Joe was curious, but not so curious as to glance over and check, so instead he just gave a half-groan of agreement, groped for a magazine from the lobby coffeetable, and pulled it over to shield his face from the lights.

[ Peter, being Peter, doesn't exactly like being cooped up. Not to mention, the whole eclipse thing is making him incredibly paranoid. So, in an effort to distract himself, he decides that wandering might be an excellent idea, or at the very least, a sub par idea. Granted, wandering about in a city that he's deemed fairly dangerous might not be what one would consider a good idea.

But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

It was purely by chance, though, that he decided to poke his head into the hall at his apartment building before wandering much further, if only because it felt inviting even from the outside. That and there was some very obvious noise coming from its direction. Even if he wasn't part of the Secret Santa festivities, Peter had kind of an obvious thing for Christmas (the fact that it followed closely after his birthday helped) and while he was still upset simply because he was here, he could at least enjoy the holidays. And the snacks ( ... )

[She doesn't know him; she's only ever heard his voice but she saw him wandered in. In her head she was looking over the list of people at the landlords desk for those who were new, who just signed in for a month and trying to see if she could place a name to him. Perhaps it was someone completely new? It was a game she played with herself when she watched people go through the lobby and up the steps to the apartments. That game seemed to continue on here.]

[The girl was trying to at least say hello to everyone she could, and if the person was new then she felt she really should try to be welcoming. Reaching over the table to refill her cup with juice she waited till he was at the tables of snacks. She tilted her head giving a side look and a sweet smile to the new guy.]

Hello! [Little miss chipper, long black hair in very long pony tailed rings, denim skirt over leggings and soft sweater? How can one not smile when greeted so kindly?] Welcome to the party.

[ Attention set down onto the snack table, Peter's more interested in looking then he is in eating that much. Especially since he wasn't invited, he's not sure if he's allowed to do much more than look... ] Huh-- [ But Peter's's momentarily startled when greeted -- he really hadn't expected anyone to strike up a conversation with him, apart from possibly kicking him out. Maybe if he'd been here a little longer, but not right now, when he hadn't done more than talk to a few people over his NV.

But the girl talking to him seems... well, almost like the epitome of kindness. Which is unexpected enough in New York, here it's downright shocking. Less than a moment later, he offers a lopsided smile to the girl, trying to at least come close to her level of chipper. ]

.. Thanks. I'm still trying to get used to the idea that it's a few days until Christmas. Around here.

Oh? Was it far away still, where you are from? [Was her first question, drawing back a bit and standing relaxed, holding her drink. There was something to the voice... perhaps she had talked to him? There was a look to her that said she was trying to assess this for a moment.]

You're new here, right? [Was the following question, curious as ever. Perhaps if he said more she would recognize the voice. She had it down to a few ideas now as it was.]

It was all a little tiring really. She had some help, thankfully, but she had spent a few nights awake by now or at least awake with a few naps here and there. She should have rested more, but she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. She had spent most her time in the gathering hall, either sitting gifts up as she was taking care of them for people, or directing others to gifts or goodies or what not. She greeted a few people, and even spoke with the Landlord who was wandering about once in a while ( ... )
