Valentine’s Day was just another day to Ryuuken. He kept to the routine he had developed over his time in Siren’s Port, arriving for work earlier than any of the other doctors on the floor.
His first patient of the day had no symptoms and seemed to only want to give Ryuuken a box of chocolate. She was not dissuaded by his curt refusal and would not be satisfied until Ryuuken had eaten a piece. She seemed disappointed afterwards for whatever reason, and left without a word. Ryuuken could only shake his head at the impertinence and folly of youth.
He was on his third patient of the day when he found his thoughts were straying to Isshin. By the fifth, Ryuuken was unable to concentrate on anything else. What was Isshin doing? Working? Probably. But had he received presents from any admirers? Ryuuken frowned, not listening to a word the patient was saying. Did Isshin have a date for later? He stood, excusing himself from the woman.
Ryuuken had a colleague cover this and the rest of his appointments until lunchtime. He retreated to his office and lay on the sofa, eating the chocolate from earlier.
