After a moment to collect her thoughts, she speaks.]I feel like I should have more to say here, but I haven't done many interesting things lately-a lot of work and studying. I guess if I talked about what I'm learning, that would mean I really know it, but does it ( Read more... )

Oh! I didn't know there was an Aikido instructor among us- I had someone teaching me the basic principles back in January...unfortunately, we didn't get too far beyond that.

Really? That's too bad. Aikido is very good for the body and mind!

You're told right. But it really does go beyond the physical. Learning it helped me a lot when I was younger.

Right now mine are twice a week in the afternoon, but my boss is going to adjust the schedule depending on how much interest there is for the different styles and skill levels.

I had a few problems when I was a child. Being active that way helped clear my head.

Yes, definitely! Skipping the fundamentals would just cause problems in the long run-the beginner classes will probably be some of our biggest. Some of the instructors are also available for private lessons too.

Ah... I see.

Do you think you could do me a personal favor, and let me know when the private time blocks were? Just because- well, I'm not sure I want to be making an idiot of myself in front of too many people who could potentially end up being my patients.

Yes, but it is easier to practice when you're not self-conscious of being observed.

Then we'll just have to get you past being self-conscious, won't we?

It only won't if you decide it won't! That's how learning works.
