009: Powerless in the Face of Turnabout - Video

[Phoenix is sitting at a desk looking a little better now that his liver is starting to recover. His eyes are brighter than they've been in weeks, and he's smiling.]

So... It's been a long week, and I was thinking last night that everyone's been going through a lot of changes recently. Somehow I've managed to avoid that, maybe because I didn't have anything in the way of powers to speak of in the first place, but it must have been hard for some of you. How has everyone been coping with it? I know everything seemed most difficult in the first few days after the Core went haywire, but are any of you handling things any better now than you were at the beginning of the week? Is anyone worse?

Um, there's one other thing, and it's gonna sound like it comes a bit out of the blue, but bear with me. As you all know, some of us Newcomers just don't exist on paper, and that means that we can vanish without being noticed--it's sort of convenient for the bad guys. If you were making a case for citizenship here in the city, what kinds of information would you absolutely refuse to share? Is telling someone your name and age already too much? I know it's a lot of questions, but I suppose what I'm getting at is... would you be prepared to be more informative if it meant that you were more secure in the long run? And uh--what about registering your powers?

[He shuffles his papers distractedly, having glanced awkwardly away from the camera, then hastily adds:]

I'm not asking in any official capacity--not yet, at least. I just want to know what sort of things I should be focusing on when I do. Have any of you had problems with this sort of thing before?
