In my world, we've had problems with this most definitely. I will never register my powers. Ever. I wouldn't even admit to having powers. That's a slippery slope.

Mutants, people with powers, are hated and feared. In some places, they're actually hunted. We don't have the same civil rights as normal humans, because the law doesn't consider us human. If crimes happen to mutants, no one cares until the flatscans are injured. If a crime happens and a mutant is anywhere near? They're immediately accused of the crime even if they were just trying to help.
We're still the marginalized people here. You think it's going to be any different here?

I'm not even sure the day we arrived here is important. It would set us apart from natives having that extra bit of information there, wouldn't it? A name, a photograph... Do we need more than that?
