[Okay, so she's totally here to check the place out, but she told Spike she'd meet him there to grab wings after his shift. Settling on the bar stool not long before he's due to get out, she offers a smile.]

You look miserable.

[He doesn't look too happy to see her inside, but at least it's...relatively safer than out. All he can do is sigh.]

Being a spy's hard work, huh?

At least you're on the inside. [She leans on the bar and looks up.] Cheer up. We're going out for wings when you're done.

[He opened his mouth to say something lecture-y about her being out alone, and then just snapped it shut. She was okay, and he didn't have to deal with Angel tonight. These were both good things.]

It's the only thing kept me hanging on these past five.

[Jason's actually not out on patrol tonight, instead working a shift as a bouncer at the Twins, when he too is walking home. He can feel every bruise and burn from dealing with monsters and he'd rather be out investigating where AGI and SERO are holding the parents of the kids in the orphanage but he knows he doesn't have any leads. He needs Bruce for this, but he doesn't know how to ask. Still, he wants to try on his own, to prove that he can do it.

When he comes across Spike, though, the vigilante can't help but want to have some much-needed fun.]

Old man.

[He looks back over his shoulder like he already doesn't know the voice -- or like he hadn't heard the boy coming.]

Just who I wanted to see.

[Jason shrugs and pockets his hands as he approaches Spike, picking up his gait in order to attempt to catch up with him.]

Aw, you flatter me. [Grin. Hope you don't ever get sick of this kid.]

[It's not like Spike's any stranger to people being a dick to him. He just usually follows them around instead. This is new.]

What can I say, I'm shallow and you have a pretty face. [He shoves his hands in his own pockets, hardly having the energy to add even a little bite to it.]

[ He's technically on a break. By technically it means that he ropes one of the other guys to do his job while he skives off. The boss likes him (kinda) and it fits the image (kinda), so whatever.

Besides, he still needs to check this man out. He is one of those people who make the fourth wall cry on a regular basis, after all. ]

Yer enthusiasm for the job's catchin', Spike my boy. [ Long, low drawl. ]

Gimme my free drink.

[He shrugs, opening out his arms in greeting.] What'll you have?

[So not bothering to argue with Matches' assessment of his 'enthusiasm.']

[ He shrugs expansively, snagging a bar stool and swinging himself on top of it. ]

Whatever ya wanna make. I'll see what ya pick.

[ There's a smirk at the corner of his lip, curved around the ever-present match. ]

Only right drink around here. [he's muttering, pouring Matches some Jack, no ice.]

[ WHY IS HE HERE? Who knows. Probably because he just got off work and he's got nothing better to do than check out the new place Spike is working before he goes back home. But Peter isn't a bar kind of guy in the first place, especially not a vampire-bar kind of guy, so when he finally actually makes it to a bar stool, he's a little bit wide-eyed.

Peter sure does feel... really out of place. ] How's your first night on the job been?

[He goes a little wide-eyed himself at the appearance of a wild Peter. But then he's shrugging to cover, side-stepping the question.]

Doesn't seem like your kinda place, huh, Pete? Surprised to see you here.

Yeah, well- [ Maybe he'd be better at acting all nonchalant if he wasn't trying to sink even lower down into his barstool. ] Not a lot of bars are really my kind of place.

[oh Peter. Spike is halfheartedly rubbing at a glass with his towel.]

Yeah, came here just to see me then? How touching.

[ Jessica is basically subservient to Eric, who's a Sheriff and over a thousand years old; she's just a baby vampire that's barely several months old. She's not entirely happy about the situation - it implies that whatever Eric orders her to do, she has no choice but to follow.

Either way, she just might be a frequent visitor to Fangtasia on the grounds that it feels a little bit like home. She approaches the bar, just wanting to sit down rather than order anything. ]

[he turns, about to ask what she wants when he recognizes her.] Looking for Eric?

No, I'm just hanging out. It's pretty much home away from home for me.

Some home. [he couldn't stop the snide comment, but he did pull back some bitterness, trying to keep his eyes out of the crowd.]
