It's a... family tradition!

This has been the most incredible weekend. I will sum up last night quickly. City Limits country bar in Raleigh. Two-steppin'. Bull-ridin'. Men from the air force. Dancin'. Fun. And then today I did something I did not expect. I have been talking about it for awhile, but I did not want to be rash. I wanted to wait until I became financially and emotionally settled into North Carolina. Today I put down a deposit and adopted...

MOXY!

Meet my new little angel. I will be picking her up on Friday. She's a stray from a shelter. She's two months old. She's just... unbelievably adorable. Other Liz, who we have now established is my hetero soulmate, went with me today as she is extremely intuitive about animals. It was fated. I saw her online two days ago, but I was just planning on going to look and get familiar with animals and the process of choosing a puppy. Apparently she was already adopted! This morning, however, she was forfeited, about an hour before I came into the store. We actually tried to go yesterday, but the shelter was closed, so we didn't go. It was meant to be. My little darling is only $100, and tomorrow Liz and I are going puppy supply shopping. She has a wonderful temperment, but a bit of a chewing problem. That can be fixed, though. Surprisingly, for her age (2 months), she's not very jumpy. She's active and spunky, but big into cuddling.

I am so excited. I love that my house will be perfect for her. Big yards in the front and back for her to play in. Roommates that will adore the crap out of her. It'll be wonderful. It'll be nice to be a mama again. Liz and Jenni will be playing aunties to her. Also Liz will help me train her. I'm very thrilled. I can't wait to photograph her. I know there will be some nights where I will want to scream and die over the puppy, but it's just like a child... she's family. It's not always easy, but love isn't always easy.

So yes. Everyone say hi to Moxy!
