Garrus stared at his apartment. Everything was gone. A few of his spare heatsinks, his furniture, a few little tools he'd left behind. Not to mention the creatures crawling all over everything. He rubbed at the back of his fringe with a sigh. "...that little robot did all this?"

How he'd compressed a few spare heatsinks without exploding was beyond Garrus.

Shepard nodded silently and moved into the room. She picked over a turtle and succeeded in crushing two snails and a salamander. Gingerly, Shepard tried to scrape the small creatures off her shoe, but only managed to smear the silt on the floor in a line.

"Damn," Shepard said and gave up trying to keep clean.

"I hope there's no gators in the bathroom."

They were larger than the little bot, but at this point she wouldn't have put it past him.

"...do I even want to know what a gator is?"

Knowing their luck it was probably like a varren, but meaner. He started to pick his way across the room. He didn't doing a bang-up job of avoiding stepping on things, but he did... decently. He sighed softly and tried to scrape the remains of another gecko off of his foot.

"This is going to take forever to clean up."

"New rule," Shepard said as she moved to inspect the stack of cubes. "If you see a large creature of unidentifiable origin in the bathroom, just shoot first."

The cubes weighed more than she expected them to, and Shepard dislodged one with a shove. It tumbled down the pyramid and onto the ground with a heavy thud. Was that cloth?

Shepard almost groaned.

After a pause, she continued. "Might want to check whatever personals you had."

Her underwear and...was that her spare undersuit? Damn it.

[SOUNDS!]

[WALL-E rolls out from the hall where he'd been on standby, waving and bleeping enthusiastically. They're back! He knew they'd come back! See!]

[He's bringing the biggest frog along! It looks like this and is probably like five pounds!]

[Maybe it's related to Thane.]

The little bot came flailing around the corner, his treads tossing muck on the walls as he did. The frog in his arms looked less than happy to be there. It's somber expression was far too familiar for Shepard's tastes. I looked a little like--no, there were more important things.

"Very...nice." Shepard offered and let out a short sigh. "So...this? You brought it all?"

[Nod nod nod!]

diii-rekkkk-tiv.

[Bring back things of note! PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING LIVING WAS A THING OF NOTE. But at least he had a sense to sort them out and bring back only the smallest, or the biggest, or the most colorful, or the most interesting, or the ones that looked most like Turians and Drells.]

[He puts the frog down and holds out a turtle. Maybe this one is related to Garrus.]

life

"I can see that."

Shepard took the turtle from him and the turtle stared at her dispassionately. She returned the stare and absently tucked it under her arm. Its legs shuffled awkwardly in the air and she ignored it.

Wall-e looked very proud of himself. It was almost endearing. At any rate, it looked like yelling at him would be unproductive. Shepard let out a long sigh and shook her head.

"Next time, more video, less...lizards."

Mordin stared. For once, he had nothing to say. Of course, that lasted only the barest of moments.

"Laboratory equipment gone. Luckily, kept sample on me. Will have to replace. Wide variety of equipment to salvage here, not hard. Simply time consuming. Will need to move animals out. Hm."

"The first thing we salvage should be buckets," Shepard returned as she pushed a large bullfrog with her boot. It hopped up and over the remains of the chair, onto the pyramid of trash.

"And a mop," she added, almost as an afterthought. At least now they would have room to set up something more substantial than Mordin's last, impromptu chemistry set.

"Cleaning supplies would be useful. Yes." Mordin suppressed a small sigh of disappointment. Now he was going to need a new computer, too. More trips into the various residential zones in the future, then. And just when he had been about to start making some real progress, too.
