He certainly hoped it wasn't.
The sound was enough to cause the scientist to pause, look around, and seem somewhat confused when he didn't spot anything.
Then again, there was the sound. This time a bit clearer. Shockwave took a few minutes before he finally spotted the source; someone jumping from building to building.
Interesting.
Forgetting about making his trip to the store, he began following. Likely too curious for his own good.

Fine.
Cindy dropped down onto the street level, her boots resounding against the asphalt with a heavy clang, blissfully unaware that she was being followed.

As Cindy dropped to the ground, Shockwave skidded to a halt, almost tripping over his own feet. How kind of the creature, to come down to the ground like that and make it simple to keep and eye on where it was headed. Of course there was one other way to keep an eye on it.
Another option...
"Greetings!" he called out.

Cindy's hands clenched at her sides and unclenched again. Her plasmid arm was ready, the hand smoldering already as she regarded him. Was he a splicer? Why was he calling to her? Was this a trap? Splicers tried, every so often, to take down Big Sisters, but this place was empty.
Cindy let out a sharp warning screech. The tone warbled slightly with her frustration. She was hungry and if he wasn't a splicer, she didn't want to waste the time to kill him.

Kanaya sees no problem with this, no reason to be afraid. She fought imps and basilisks, Giclopes and Denizens. She had even been instrumental in helping destroy the Black King. Besides, even when she was back on Alternia, she was never afraid of things that made suspicious colliding noises during the nocturnal cycle.

Everything was so empty, so void of movement that even shifts, walking figures, registered as something of note. Cindy dropped down a story, clawed along the wall of the high rise and crept closer. Jack had broken out the glass in her helmet, without it, it was easy to see the small movements, the shadows as they shifted, and the color of Kanaya's skin.
The grey was alarming, enough that Cindy paused in her descent. She had met a metal daddy, had she found a sister? Cindy stalked her for another few yards before she dropped to the street to creep after her on foot.

It was strange and Cindy couldn't figure it out. Many of the older sisters didn't really need the suits, but she so rarely dealt with others that it was strange to come into contact with one who didn't have it. The horns were new, but nothing special. She was a sister, though, and the way she whipped around, clutching her hands tight, sealed it. Without the suit, that meant she needed protection.
Cindy clicked metallically, some strange inhuman sound that tumbled out of her helmet. The sisters scared easy, but there were dangerous splicers around, and she was without a daddy.

Though this was different. He poured over the photos Jack had sent him, going over every possibility until very few logical ones remained. Whatever it was it had the looks of a Big Daddy, only fast and mean. Meaner.
If it was some defunct Big Daddy prototype (the hell did Ryan do when Fontaine died?) it'd be after one thing: little sisters. There weren't any here, but there were plenty of little grey alien girls with orange eyes running around. If it went after one of them he'd at least have some answers.
... Now to find one of them, tricky little bastards.

Well, no surprise for her or us.
It might have been a surprise for Atlas because, unbeknownst to her, he was less than a block behind her when her boots hit asphalt.

Terezi had just come out of a store she'd been checking out, an automatic bell ringing quietly behind her, when she suddenly caught the sharp tang of metal land on the ground across the street from her. Did... did someone in armor just drop down from the rooftops to check out a vending machine? Really? She sniffed the air again, not quite believing her nose. The faint smell of peach came to her from off to the side this time -- is that a human? -- and it occurred to her that this was probably more people who'd randomly crossed paths in this place in a long time.
Whatever. Diplomatic interspecies relations were a go. Time to figure out why metal people were falling from the sky. "Hello!" Terezi called out, leaning forward on her cane, her grin Cheshire Cat wide. "What are you doing?"

She turned, twisted around in a smooth motion that shouldn't have been possible for an awkward seven foot creature in a dive suit, and tilted her head as she studied the girl. The other had hacked at her arms, but this one only had a stick.
Cindy let out a shrill keen and flexed her hand as she shifted her feet. The sisters here didn't recognize her, might attack or run, she would have to grab this one quickly.

The effort of coming back, though, had tired her out and she shouldn't leave them alone without staying a while. The little sisters were sensitive, and prone to scare easily. She would wait a while and then go back and find a daddy.
Hopefully not a stupid one.
Cindy screeched comfortingly at them and moved to search the rest of the building for hiding splicers.

When Dave had heard Terezi's call for aid, he hadn't really stopped to think. He'd simply ran, heading straight out towards the pinged location without bothering to switch out his shirt and jeans for a decent suit or even warn Bro. As it turned out, he'd already responded, so it was probably for the best that he hadn't wasted time anyways.
There was a time to prepare in situations like this, and a time to act. Dave, being an expert on time in general, knew that the immediate present fell more under the latter category.
Reaching the pinpointed building faster than any average human (Strider DNA - it was in his blood), Dave halted outside the entrance. Alright, time to review the situation. Crazy psychic robot thing. Large needle to watch out for. Possibly a setup for a bad porn or horror movie.
Taking a deep breath, Dave retrieved the shattered remains of Caledfwlch and strode on in.

Terezi had always come through for him. When he was mourning Aradia she had been the one to orchestrate revenge on Vriska. When he needed someone to guide the other team she'd been the first he went to. The idea that he wouldn't come through for her too was just...alien. Incomprehensible. It never crossed his mind. She was his friend, she needed him, that was that. Who cared whatever he was up again?
As he landed at the coordinates he sensed a human nearby, bright red in his psionic sight. There. The Dave human? Well, he and Terezi had sure had a thing, so. He caught up, touching the human's shoulder.
"Hey. You here for Pyrope too?"
Maybe they could help each other. Then again, if he just stayed out of Sollux's way that would work too.

Oh. He couldn't say that the voice was familiar in any way, but the person seemed to know the others. Probably one of the other trolls, then. A quick glance behind him confirmed this idea - a troll for sure, four horns and bicolored glasses. Now, all that left was the question of who "Pyrope" was. Probably Terezi - if any of the other trolls had been watching his timeline(s), they'd know that she was the only one he'd kept in contact with.
"Yeah. Guess you could say that." Shrugging off the question (and likely the hand in the process), Dave took a quick look around the area. Good - no signs of dangerous inhabitants yet.
"So, which one are you?"
