I believe that Facebook may, in fact, be a leading thread towards the Singularity. I find that extremely interesting and mildly disturbing at the same Time.
The current trend of tee-shirt design consumerism reminds me, strongly, of the "Shoe Event Horizon" story segment of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy stories, as featured in
