Jurassic Park 3... slash?

So I finally got around to seeing "Jurassic Park 3" today. Er, yesterday. I knew it was getting bad reviews, but it was actually better than I expected. They seem to have lost that sense of wonder that the first movie had -- you know, the "oooooh, that's so cool" feeling you get from nifty new things in science-fiction? Well, the feeling that I get, anyway. But it was good. And it had raptors again. Talking. Even though that was kinda unbelievable, it was fun. And parasauralophuses too, those are also good.

It gets super-spiffy bonus points from me for having the flying ones in it. Pterodactyls, pteranodons, whatever they're called. I can't tell the difference. But I liked them a lot. Did you know that "pter" is directly related to "feather"? Grimm's Law took something like *pter and turned it to "feather" in Proto-Germanic (I think) -- [p] to [f] and [t] to [th], voiceless stops to voiceless fricatives. And this "pter" is also in "helicopter." Helico-pter. No, really. (And yes, I know four of you knew this already.)

Doesn't the word "fricative" sound dirty?

Anyway, where was I? Right, Jurassic Park 3. I had been hearing things about how Alan/Billy were really really super slashy. Honestly, I didn't think they were all that slashy. They're no Fraser/Kowalski or Joe/Billy, but then, very few things are.

Speaking of Joe/Billy, am I the only one who had a Hard Core Logo moment during Jurassic Park? "Uh-oh, Billy's gone. Where'd Billy go?" *snicker*

But anyway, though it wasn't as slashy as I had hoped, the Alan/Billy interaction was nice. I'm a sucker for slashy snarkiness and slashy h/c. Mmm, slashy snarkiness. Mmmm, h/c.

I had told my mom that I had heard this was slashy, so she was getting into the spirit of making slashy comments at the screen. Y'know, the grief-stricken "he was so young" line is amusing when your mom adds "...and attractive" to the end of it. Yes yes, I know my mom is weird. She's not a slasher, but she's willing to listen to me talk about it.

I spent a large portion of the movie trying to figure out, in the back of my mind, if Billy was supposed to be a grad student, since there was that "it's not too late to change your major" comment in the beginning, which would seem to imply undergrad work. Of course, that could have been a joke. Or I could have misheard because the annoying people who were behind us were holding a conversation.

I was rather surprised to find in the credits that Bruce A. Young was in this movie. I had no idea he was there, so I wasn't looking and I didn't notice him. I assume he was one of the dinosaur-bait mercenaries. He was Captain Simon "get those adenoids looked at right now!" Banks on "The Sentinel," and if that wasn't his TS character's middle name, it really should have been.

So, anybody got any slash recs for this movie? I might as well give it a try.
