Yesterday I received a new shipment of my prescribed contact lenses. Unfortunately, the box opened during transit and some of my contacts fell out. Meaning, I'm missing 6 months worth of contacts for my right eye. Which sucks, because I do need them.
Yesterday I went to the shop in Hoofddorp and asked them what I should do.. Well, the staff just didn't have a clue and seemed quite frankly happy I actually wasn't part of their branch, but the Amstelveen brach... So, "call them" was pretty much the only answer they had for me.
So, that's what I did just now. I called... One guy hands me to the next (his superior I guess), who then essentially tells me they have nothing to do with it. ...yes, part of me understand that. PostNL fucked up, most likely, however... I can complain to PostNL as much as I want, but that's not going to get me any new contacts. (Moreover, I expect them to point to Specsavers and tell me they didn't pack it well enough.)
And then he had something about changes in the contracts and shit... I don't fucking care! I haven't agreed to any changes of the terms yet (as far as I know), because I pretty much ignored all their attempts to have me visit the store for the past 6 months... (because I had other shit to deal with...)
So, what's the solution...? None yet, I'll have to wait for someone else to call me back... And hopefully that person can do something for me.
The solution I want? That's easy! Just resend the fucking contacts that didn't arrive and don't charge me extra! (I'll even come and pick them up if I have to! I should be coming by for a checkup anyway...) BUT I have absolutely nothing to do with this fuckup!! ...other than not receiving the products I paid for! I quite frankly think Specsavers and PostNL can fight this out among themselves and leave me out of it!
The only upside of the story, I still have enough contacts to last me for about 6 month, because I suck at changing my contacts in time...
So even if this isn't solved before I leave for Japan it won't be a problem. Heck, I could even last until the next shipment of contacts! Yeah, if they insist on me paying up, I guess I'll just take the loss... (Well, actually... I'll have my dad call...) >_<
btw. the funny part of the story... on the letter that came with the shipment, they actually tell me to check the content and call if there's something wrong. But apparantly they don't even have a policy on what should happen if something appears to be missing... (or maybe I should've left PostNL out of the story, and just told them they fucked up and didn't include the contacts... maybe then they would've just resend the contacts...) xD

All right, next phone call... At least this woman sounded like she is going to fix the problem, but... so far I have no solution and I probably won't get one until next week sometime. (Plus, is sounds like I have to come and pick up the contacts at the shop, but... I can live with that.)

So... I guess it's solved now... they ordered my missing contacts and I can pick them up next Friday...
Well, I'll just see what happens when I get there... The guy mumbled something about my contract having been cancelled and they only ordered what I already paid for... I honestly don't really get it. But apparantly their new "contracts" are actually cheeper than the once I currently have, so... I was going to switch over anyway I guess...
