I seem to have quite a few women or girls (and the odd gay guy) friend me totally at random. The strange thing to me is that it is mostly women. The percentage of female to male on my flist is something like 90/10. Not that I mind, or anything, it's just odd. I've always had more female friends than male and I've never been able to figure out why

Yes, Russians that friend you are bots. There's a way to stop it though... when you get friended by a Russian, hover your mouse over the little man icon to the left of their username. This brings up a context menu. In there is a link "Report a bot". Click on that, follow the instructions and i a few days (depending on how busy the support team is) the account will be deleted. I suspect that the bots themselves (or at least, the people writing them) are smart enough to realise which users constantly report them. Either that or LJ has cured the problem, because I haven't had one in weeks!

Heh, I think the Aussie PM just exploited the general paranoia. The same way Bush did to get elected.

At least it's summer down there now. We just had our wettest November on record. This is what I don't get about "global warming" theory: The air warms up; warm air holds more water than cold air; wore water evaporates into the atmosphere (negating the so-called rise in sea level); this moisture forms clouds, blocking the suns rays and cooling the planet down!

Global warming is not well thought out!
