There's some TVD fic being posted lately that makes me happy. SO LET ME SHOW YOU IT.
If I Held My Breath by smc-27: “No one in this story is innocent.” Through 2x12. Beautifully written future-fic, in which Caroline returns to a Mystic Falls haunted by memories of tragedy. Really great Caroline - wounded but strong and still very much the girl we know. A dark envisioning for the end of S2, with details that unfold slowly. Just the perfect kind of bleak that transitions into believable hope. {Caroline/Tyler; 12,000 words}
You're Okay by Eena: Post 2x13, in which Caroline gets ready to rumble. (I love Caroline so much.) "They took you, because they could," he tells her, his voice cold and hard. "They took you because you don't know enough to defend yourself. They will come for you again, if they can..." {Caroline; Caroline & Damon; Author labels it with hints of C/D but it read like friendship to me. YMMV. 2,200 words.}
Lame Ducks Don't Do Well As Parental Figures by badboy-fangirl: Through 2x13. “Jenna really does not want to be lame in any sense of the word.” // Believable Jenna POV as she struggles through Season 1 & 2 on what (if anything) should be done about the confusing non-relationship between Elena and her boyfriend’s adult brother. I enjoy outsider POV fics, and it was interesting to think about how things must seem to Jenna without any of the important context. (also amused by the oh-so-in-character Damon enabling by Alaric). {Jenna; Jenna/Alaric, Damon&Elena UST; 2,700 words}
So Put Another Dime In the Jukebox, Baby by eatsscissors: Post 2x7 'Masquerade'. "Jenna finds out about vampires. There is really only one way to handle that." This is hilarious and perfectly in character. I adored the Damon & Alaric friendship and this made me love Jenna in a way that the show hasn't managed yet. {Alaric/Jenna; Damon; 9,000 words}
After the Storm by distant-lines: "Set roughly four years in the future, as Damon and Elena weather through the good and bad of their relationship." A painfully believable depiction of what it would be like choosing Damon Salvatore. {Damon/Elena; implied Stefan/Caroline; 5,600 words}
An Act Of Trust by simply-aly: Post 2x11. "Elijah sticks around and gets caught up in the game of protecting Elena." I love Elijah so far and I adore Elena, so how can I not jump at a fic with them together? {Elena/Elijah UST; 2,000 words}
So who's going to write me some TVD slash, though? Where's my Damon/Alaric at?!
