Dear 2008,
Welcome. I started this year out with my current favorite movie and some close friends; quiet, fun, perfect. I will miss 2007 because it holds so many memories and the biggest change in my life since I don't know when. And now I look forward to 2008, which brings with it the promise of new things and new opportunities I never thought I'd have. I'll be traveling to London in the summer to live there for a month and experience life outside of the US. I have never been so excited. It also brings with it my second semester at Linfield, the college I have grown to call my true home and love so much. In 2007 I met a boy who gave me my first kiss, my first taste of what bliss is like. I only hope that 2008 gives me a definitive answer to what we end up being to each other. I dearly do. So please, 2008, be a beautiful year. Be one I want to remember forever. Be full of love and life and laughter and less of tears and sadness. I am tired of the sadness I have watched in my family for the last two years. It is time for things to change. Please help me to become a better person, please help my parents to realize that I'm not their little girl anymore and that I have the right to a life of my own and deserve it. Please.
