More so this year than any other year, have I noticed the bitter and sometimes, completely childish debate, over what the holiday season should be called ( Read more... )

one of our Presidents actually called for the holiday shopping season to be moved earlier, in order to help our economy recover. I don't remember which one it was.

so we can blame them for seeing Christmas decorations for sale in the beginning of October.

Ugh.

I have decided to not think about it anymore. :) Just makes me mad.

Truely, it is no longer about anything but mass commercialism anyway so why bother with any debate?
Yep, lets just change it to Present day.
Or the Season of Life. :)

I actually had a moment of (supposed) clarity during Thanksgiving. I was using the bathroom and realized that people pretend to think of this as a religious holiday, but get so consumed by buying presents, even when they don't have the money to do so. you know, they go to church, get offended when they see "x-mas", but don't really get the meaning of the holiday...which, if you are Christian, is that Jesus was born. they tend to think more about presents ( ... )
