A rant, inspired by zombiekiller13

More so this year than any other year, have I noticed the bitter and sometimes, completely childish debate, over what the holiday season should be called.
I now am waiting for the call to ban the word holiday. (A religious feast day; a holy day.) Wouldn't holiday offend, agnostics? atheists?

The whole debate just makes me want to scream.

I have been so indifferent to Christmas for years now, so the whole argument is so ridiculous to me. I have noticed year after year, stores start selling and promoting, Christmas/Holiday shopping earlier and earlier each year. It has become more commercialized that an actual celebration of anything. Seriously, when you have Christmas/Holiday decorations out for sale before Halloween, you cannot tell me that it isn't all about MONEY. There is no way you will convince me that the big coroprations haven't played on the gullibility of the American public to spend, spend, spend. Most of the time, spending what they don't have, creating debt that takes a year or more to pay off. Really it should be called, Spend Money you don't have Week/Month.

Bah!
