well, it looks like I may be getting a second cat.
we've got an abandoned cat that wandered into my back yard, skinny as a rake and starved for attention. he's front declawed and really friendly. Loki-kitty has been watching him from the sliding glass doors and acting curious but cautious. Ash tried to make friends with him a couple times but kept his distance when the cat seemed too nervous.
we've got a bowl of food out for him on the back deck and set up a place for him to sleep there as well. we're going to get Loki up to date on his shots on Tuesday and by then we'll decide if we're going to keep him or look for a home for him. if we keep him we'll then set up an appointment for him at the vet to make sure he's healthy and then start introducing him into the house. we'll probably move Loki's food dish for a while and keep the cat in the guest house at night until Loki and Ash are use to him
I've taken to calling the cat Fritti after Fritti Tailchaser from Tailchaser's Song because he kind of looks like Fritti is described. not completely, but enough so that it's ironic he started coming around the same time I started rereading the book.
