2007, not really a year in review.

Dec 31, 2007 22:15

I was in a pretty bad mood today but I'm feeling pretty mellow now. Nothing like working on cosplay stuff for the trip and not having to deal with cheap wall clocks to improve one's mood. For a change of pace I decided to do one of those year in survey memes. I snagged this one from silverspitfire.

1. What did you do in 2007 that you've never done before?
I took road trips and stayed over for several days and nights in other states with my friends. I've always gone on day trips with friends but I've never done a full go away convention until last January. Road trips with friends are made of awesome, everyone should do it at least once in their young lives.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I think I kept some of my New Year's resolutions and probably broke a lot more. It would really help if I could remember the exact resolutions that I made. As for next year I'll probably make more beyond just finishing college and getting a job in the journalism field.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister (on my father's side - no relation to my mom) gave birth and had a daughter. I'm an aunt. Except my mom and my dad were angry because my sister didn't bother to include me and I can't say that I feel left out, we aren't very close.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no!

5. What countries did you visit?
None this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Better time management even when relaxing. I've done well as far as work, chores and school goes, but when it comes to doing things for myself I'm so stressed out that I can't even enjoy it anymore.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory?
I don't have any specific dates, but I'll always remember the month of August. I got a cool visit from balto_mike and my first "real" car "died". May it rest in pieces. :(

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Probably finishing up my spring semester and my summer session at the university.

9. What was your biggest failure?
My utter lack of communication with my online friends outside of TBL Chat and Live Journal.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just the usual colds and viruses. I also burned my arm on my 24th birthday, fun times.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Probably my new digital camera. I'd say the car, but that'd fall under the most expensive thing. X_x

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Celebration over behavior? This concept amuses me.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?
*Cough,cough*Lamonica*Cough,cough*

14. Where did most of your money go?
The bulk of it went to bills, especially car repair bills. Ugh.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Taking four day vacations for my anime convention trips and any vacation in general.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
None really. X_x

17. Compared to this time last year:
I. are you happier or sadder? About the same.
II. thinner or fatter? About the same.
III. richer or poorer? Probably a tiny bit poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Getting out to visit people and keeping in touch with friends. Also, more leisure reading outside of graphic novels.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stressing out about life, especially if I didn't have to.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
At home with my family, it was a good day.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
No, I'm already in a relationship. Not many people know because they don't bother to ask, so I don't bother to tell. ^_^;

23. How many one night stands?
None. *Shudder.*

24. What was your new favorite TV program?
2007 has been a pretty disappointing year in terms of TV programing.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope, everything as pretty much stayed the same.

26. What was the best book you read?
I don't think college textbooks count. X_X

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Probably the Fugees.

28. What did you want and get?
I finally got my hands on a PSP, I've been wanting one for a while.

29. What did you want and not get?
A new laptop, the money went to pay the loan on my new(er) car.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Probably the Simpsons Movie, Spiderman 3 wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
Did chores, cooked and got a nasty burn on my arm. At least its mostly gone now.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More time to enjoy my favorite hobbies! I can't even seem to manage my free time anymore. XD

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Fas-hion? What's that?

34. What kept you sane?
Looking forward to my graduation in 2008, and my favorite TV shows, like Family Guy.

35. Which celebrity/public figure(s) did you fancy the most?
None, really.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The decline of the US Dollar. It'll be awhile before I travel abroad...

37. Who did you miss?
I wish I could have gotten a visit from (or visited) cwtyger this year.

38. Who was the best new person(s) you met?
All my buddies from my magazine journalism major, notably my friends Kris (not sure if she's on LJ) and Geoffrey (geofflb).

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
It's always important to keep moving forward in life by putting one foot in front of the other everyday, in short perseverance is important.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Thank You! - Home Made Kazoku

To the people who have always supported me
I've put you in my rhapsody of everyday thoughts
I hope my feelings of appreciations will reach you
Thank you as always. Really, thank you
No matter where you are I'll always be thankful you exist

Now back to trip preparations. And if I don't get to say it tomorrow, Happy New Year everyone!
