The sun may be shinning right now, but I already see the storm clouds arriving. I personally am I getting sick and tired of dealing someone who tries to so hard to aggravate you in every way possible. Yes, I'm taking about Lamonica again. (Seems like I never have anything good to say about foster children, eh?) No matter how many times you try to talk matters over, show her what's right, or punish her in some way (to show that doing the wrong thing does have negative consequences) she doesn't care. No, I should say that she's gotten worse in the year she's been here. Now she simply refuses to listen to anyone and when told to do something, she makes it much worse. Dishes are put in the cabinet dirty, her room is filthier than ever, she leaves wet laundry around all week and the list goes on. I won't even mention much beyond the fact that her bad habits finally have attracted roaches and it's going to take a LOT to get them out of here. (Though having her around is counter-productive to that cause.)
When she refuses to listen to anyone, no one should have to bend over backwards to do any favors for her. And yet, I find myself wasting a perfectly good Saturday, to take her to visit her mother. Like I mentioned before her mother only has to see her kids for four hours, twice a month, and she doesn't always show up. She's not making any progress to get her children back, and seems (as the foster agency puts it) content with the whole set up. So whenever Lamonica goes to visit her, she always comes home with an attitude and trashes her room and or anything else she can. I'm sure it's under negative influence from her mother. She wishes to live with her, but she can't so she takes her frustrations out us. After a year of this and the problem only getting worse, one does get very tired of it.
Since my mom isn't ready to give up on her, I guess I can't either. Though dealing with someone like her clearly isn't good for my mom's physical and mental health.
*Edit*
In a stroke of partial luck, I don't have to take her to the visit. Though I do have to pick her up at noon. So now I'll focus on being productive and start my homework.
